the interesting thing is webber was faster with the optionNathanOlder wrote:Interesting to hear Vettel, say his car was better on the harder tyres, and he was struggling on the option.
on Sky he just said he had a better car on the hards, and so the option was only about two tenths quicker for him. To be fair you wouldn't be happy iabout P5 if you're the record holder for most poles in a yearTh0R wrote:Vettel just said on rtl that we doesnt feel comfortable with the option tyre. He was also on the hards on that run. Or The F1 iPad app is lying to me.myurr wrote:he didn't look good on his first run and was a way off Webber's pace.
I was sure he was on the options, but I wouldn't put money on it. Commentators thought so too as they said he had to beat his first run in order to use those tyres.raymondu999 wrote:He was also on the hards on that run. It was probably just because of his lock up into the last corner.horse wrote:If Hamilton had matched Button's final sector he would have got a high 1.35. That would have been incredible.
The only question is whether the tyres were cooked by the time he got to the last corner?
Yeah. This track and china the drivers have to apportion the tyre life among the sectors.horse wrote:If Hamilton had matched Button's final sector he would have got a high 1.35. That would have been incredible.

for your eyes only.. not my eyes......zgred wrote:
My eyes were glued to my iPad timing at that point so I didn't really see it on the telly. But the iPad was saying hards.myurr wrote:I was sure he was on the options, but I wouldn't put money on it. With the harder tyre Vettel should be abble to jump some cars at the first stop, but I do think he'll get mugged at the start.SiLo wrote:Wow, Hamilton with apparently time to spare after a big mistake into the last corner. Will be interesting to see what Vettel can do, or if he will get swamped at the start tomorrow.
And Schumi! I really hope he has a good race, hope he beats the Red Bulls!
There was a tailwind into the last corner, so that may explain his running wide.horse wrote:If Hamilton had matched Button's final sector he would have got a high 1.35. That would have been incredible.
