Ferrari 2014 Car Pre-launch Speculation

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

14 is his lucky number. Probably wanted it in the car name too.

God i hope the FIA gets their Rules straight for 2015. Is it really that difficult to write Rules for aesthetically pleasing Noses ?

maybe a silly question but what do the potential names refer to? i.e how have they come up with them? mainly the numbers as i get F=ferrari and T=Turbo

1) F14T
2) F14 Maranello
3) F14 Scuderia
4) F166 Turbo
5) F616

If it ends up looking like the above, I think that'd be pretty good on the aesthetics - MUCH better than some of the solutions we've seen on these boards.

Totally doesn't achieve an actual low nose, as the regulations were intended to, so I also wonder if - if the rumours about Lotus' nose being rejected for being 'dangerous' are true - if this one would be allowed. I mean, surely a nose tip at that height, even if it is a vanity panel, coming at you from the side is not a good idea?

But anyway, hope I'm wrong, because I think this is quite a nice looking solution.

EDIT: and I also like the black front wing!

14 is either for 2014 or F14T can be read as FIAT.

166 stands vor 1,6 litre 6 Cylinders.
616 is the same but 6 Cylinders 1.6 Litre

I hope the Ferrari looks something like that, I love the little black accents, not too many to make it look like a Marussia.

This is the same model that has been shown in orange as a McLaren. With 17 different nose types. And in green as a Caterham.

Yes, but the solution on the Ferrari is actually different than on the other cars - Caterham has that one central piece, McLaren is drooping; the mooted Ferrari solution essentially keeps the same nose profile and pillars as last year and then places the 'nose' in the middle of that.

Like I said before though, it completely negates the point of the regulation change imo, so not sure it would be allowed.

Strange Solution, is the Front Wing attached to the Vanity Panel ? I don't see any other Pylons.

So head on head between F14T and F166 Turbo: both 30%. F14T was a few percents behind yesterday, but got back to equal terms.

I tend to agree (whilst admitting that I'm far from an encyclopedia for the regs), but isn't the principal similar to Scarbs' snow plough idea:
