Thought y'all might like to see it.
It's actually just depressing how much more downforce they can generate from the floor
And mostly that comes from the area between the bargeboard legality volumes, as F1 chassis surfaces allow for better flow under and above the floor leading edge, compared to MVRC chassis where chassis is one big slope down and there's not much area to squeeze air through... I think CAEDevice was discussing that at the beginning of last year competition...

The scale on the CP bar is a little confusing as well, once you look where 0 is it's even more impressive.

Im running my final sim today. Finally managed to get a decent balance and have plenty of cooling (a bit too much:) will probably remove some in future races, just wanted to be safe this time). overall drag is a bit high and downforce is a bit low however im pretty happy with the car i will submit.

That is probably a very good strategy for the start. Every year people get caught out by this.

I sent out the final email for this weekend, simply using a simple email account. I hope it worked and you all received something. If not, keep in mind that it contains the submission info, so you will need to complain if you are planning to submit and have not received any info on how.

Car submitted!

I am very proud to present you my MCR01!

Still a lot of potential to extract... I will be surprised if I could get even near the top 15..

In anycase, I enjoyed a lot spending time on this project during the lockdown, and I am glad to see the final result (for Monaco at least!)

Good luck to everybody!

Welcome MaccaRacing. What I see of your car looks good, but bargeboards and diffuser will influence the results very much. Good luck!

I submitted the car today: I had an hardware issue on Friday, so I had to use a different workstation with OF7 instead of OF5 (the official solver): from what I read, there will not be significant differences in the simulation.

A question to LVDH.... will you publish the list of the car that will be simulated?

Due to certain circumstances with timing and no progress with car for this year, the '19 car will run in Monaco.
That's a bit unfortunate, but even directly better elements didn't work out even when trying to update old car with new parts (wings).

Therefore let's see how development will go with next weeks, but I guess I have to completely change the strategy and the car concept, as LapSim definitely favors low drag over high downforce with the same efficiency.

Yes, even if the car does not pass qualifying, it will be presented and ranked with the submitted time, but obviously behind the pack that did race.

I had a look at the first cars yesterday. They look pretty interesting, a lot has happened with design and there is a funny new element that the submitted cars all seem to share. Also interesting for me is to see the predicted lap times you guys submitted. Lets wait and see who was the most conservative.

Good luck to Everybody!

I think they meant will you list the qualifiers ahead of the official result?

You can't just tease that. What element? If we've all submitted it's not going to give any advantage.

Sure, why not?

Well, not everyone has submitted, but you will soon see the car presentations, I will try to get that done Monday evening.

I am preparing the folder to share... do I have to put in it also the stl of the Engine, Intake, wheels and mandatory parts? Or just the parts made by us? Because at the moment with all the parts we are at 115 MB #-o

Here's my entry. Playing it fairly conservative in most areas, but hopefully this can be a strong base to develop from. I won't tell you how many runs I did to get to this point, but suffice to say I've not had much else to keep me busy during quarantine.

:o Forgot to check that but I'm under thanks for the reminder! No you do not need to include the mandatory parts.
