Rather than focusing on completely unnecessary things like changing an already exciting Q format, they need to make proper wet weather tyres a TOP priority. It cannot go on like this. Fuji 2007 was worse than this and they could still race without any issues.

Agreed 100%. We are losing the opportunity to see wet races only because Pirelli cannot create good tyres for wet races.

Pirelli isn’t the problem. They can design a tire to do whatever they’re contracted to do.

They are somehow suppose to design tires that are fast, hold up to the weight of the cars, and put on a good show, and really only two of those can exist at one time.

Supposably Gasly saw one on track while he was circulating around. Sam made up some dumb stuff about how the Japanese do things, as if he is an expert on racing operations there (he’s not), which just got Jolyon fired up more.

Fully endorse safety being prioritised, but are we saying the full wet tyre is unsafe for these conditions?

on German Sky Seidl just said that they could probably qualify on Inters in those conditions at the moment, but in the race the problem is a lack of visibility, and with full wets it's even worse, as they come with more spray. He didn't expect the race to continue.

Have they not failed to produce the committed quality in 2019/20, that lead to regulation change cutting downforce for 2021? Even then, Pirelli kept bloating the tyres with higher and higher tyre pressures? Sorry, they have not produced the required quality ever. Even this year, the fronts are not sturdy enough that is causing understeer.

It wasn't shown and I doubt it will be shown, because that is disgusting from whoever sent the message to the steward. Especially at this track, given the history

There isn’t a manufacturer that wants to touch this ten foot pole. Pirelli is mandated to develop tires that work while also produce a show, meanwhile the FIA does their own thing and continues to make the cars heavier and heavier. The tires can’t be all things.

The downforce change for 2021 was as much about parity among concepts, Pirelli was just the fall guy to hide behind. FIA and even the teams mantra, blame the tires even if it’s really everyone else’s fault or politics.
