Legends !!

A mistake under pressure today, with the pitstop, but Max simply overtook the two other teamleaders and closed the gap in between as well. Absolutely fantastic!

GP fits Max so well. Knows exactly when to remind him to just get on with it. GP will have a contract through 2028 as well I guess

He does. He knows how to talk to Max when things aren't quite going how Max is wanting it to.

He does. But the fact that Max is snarky when things go wrong does not mean he is off it, he is always thinking about what to do. I really thought Lewis had it in the bag. I guess Mercedes should have dared to go to yellow as well.

I thought it was Lewis’ with 15 laps to go.
Seriously surprised Max managed to push the mediums so long considering the first stint, unless the weight of fuel was a factor. Seriously shocked Lewis couldn’t push that little bit more in the last 5-7laps

I didn't see anything worrying with the tires in the first stint. Max was pulling away comfortably. In fact, they only stopped early to cover the Hamilton undercut. Tires were fine. Max was protecting the tires a lot in S1.

The fuel load is much lighter for the final stint so the mediums would easily go to the end.

Both drivers are using the medium load wing this weekend. They both switched to it today. Checo had the high load wing only for yesterday.
They were not in Q. Checo switched back to high DF wing.
Okay if you've seen it, then I will go with that but why didn't Max go with the high downforce wing? There's very little difference in the straightline speed between the two cars in the Q3 laps.
It almost seemed Checo was faster in the last stint and if he didn't have that damage from the paltry Alfa he probably would have finished in 2nd. In hindsight it would have been prudent to change front wings considering the safety car but it is what it is.

I had a good feeling RedBull would go for mediums on that last stint and that it would be good on the tires. They didn't seem to have any issues with the warm ups and the wind was the biggest factor as predicted.

The larger wing on Perez did make him vulnerable to Leclerc's DRS but not Russell.

Checo's pace was very confusing. He was fast and at times the fastest on the track. It went unnoticed by many and critics will jump in to say he was terrible but thats not true. He just struggled to overtake anyone which is a shame. I think maybe the wing damage and the draggier wing hurt him in the race conditions.

Great race. Surprised to see Max could make those mediums last longer than Lewis could with his hards. Max's tire management is his most under rated skill, yet he is miles ahead of anyone else.

Lets get that 14th win next week!

Yes! And the points record for a single season at it. Records are there to be broken.

In my estimation, the remaining 3 circuits should be very favorable to RB. Mexico features 3 DRS zones. Brazil features 2 DRS zones. AD features 2 DRS zones. As you recall, the slow corners in S1 of AD were removed. RB are really able to stretch their legs on the straights.

It appears they went conservative for race setup. Max did two preparation laps in quali to bring tyres up to temp, which points to being extremely kind on tyres. COTA has been a circuit that puts a lot of stress. It seems the setup paid dividends.

I was surprised why RB pit Max when they did. He was driving conservative and didn't even eke out everything from hards and yet they chose to pit him. They could have taken him longer and put softs for the last stint and he would have still won. They knew their setup choice and it could have been a better choice.
