without 'both sides' .... there's no democracy

that which is impermissible 'prejudice and discrimination' is defined by actual laws - not by imagined laws
though eg in their motoring many show allegiance to their suite of imaginary laws rather than to the actual laws

The kids behaviour on, off and around track is of some one that has never held responsible for anything. Punching competitors, molesting girls, holding covid parties, etc etc. He will fall and take HAAS with him. This behaviour just doesn't suddenly stop. I guess his first racial slurs and homophobic comments are just around the corner.

Being socially aware and against prejudice and discrimination, ie woke, is a bad thing in your eyes?
I suppose it's a bit of a stretch by Jolle to say "I guess his first racial slurs and homophobic comments are just around the corner.". Let's, for the sake of trying to have a bit of faith in humanity that we seem to be collectively so sorely lacking, make the assumption that Mazepin will learn from his mistakes. The question now is whether his current behavior is sufficient ground to fire him; firing someone pre-emptively on the grounds that one would foresee his behavior to get worse is a bit tricky.

On the other hand, calling someone 'woke' for making such assertions is not really productive, either.

the firsts seeds are already planted. Not only did he wanted to trade nudes for a paddock pass and had a bit of a "do you know who I am" response when she said "hell no", he defended racist comments from fans and made homophobic remaks at a George Russell livestream.

These guys won't learn. They react one day by throwing their toys out of the crib and blame everyone that they are snowflakes and hopefully disappear.

Maybe one seat opens up again?
This is all I can find of the video: https://www.reddit.com/r/F1Meme/comment ... ds_got_it/

The woman has stated it was consensual: https://www.instagram.com/stories/almad ... 049092052/

This is certainly bollocking worthy and tacky as --- to upload it, but that's it. The number of people calling for blood is just dumb. They guy doesn't deserve to lose his paid seat over this, let his ineptitude and attitude on track do that for him.
CEOs get fired for smaller things.
This guy uploads himself groping the exposed breasts of a drunk girl while on a joy-ride in a ferrari going breakneck speeds?

Well, he's not a CEO, just a racecar driver for whom there is a queue of other drivers waiting to take his seat.

I'm sure Gunther will have a proper talk with him, about company image and that being in his contract.

The driver's essentially function as the CEO's of the team somewhat. They are cheif executors, they guide company culture and they face the public to represent the company.

He should be fired.

Tolerance is the problem. There is too much of it. That is basically the sort of behaviour that should be dealt with a zero tolerance measure.

I thought the young lady in the video was the person that uploaded the clip...not Maz???

I thought the lady in the video stated she was in no way a victim.. rather just 2 spoiled brats partying???

The driving part is downright dangerous...lots of bad judgement calls. Fire him for that maybe, but the young lady has adamantly claimed she was not a victim so unclear as to the calls for "me too" blood.

Ah, the whole discussion on tolerating intolerance - an interesting topic, but much as I love to delve into Popperian terrain, this might not be the most suitable location to do so.

Anyhow, I don't know what the lady in question stated on being OK with this or not. What is more relevant, is that any sense of consent is not broadcasted in such a video - a recording is not able to capture all the context and subtleties of human interactions anyhow, and this one clearly lacks such context in particular. Just going by the video material, the behavior is undesired. By uploading it (or allowing it to be uploaded), Mazepin had a clear, severe lapse of judgement both on the behavior he was radiating, the impact of his public figure, and the association with his employer. The main question for Haas is whether they want to associate with such behavior, regardless of whether it is strictly legal, regardless of the intent.

(Even if the behavior was not undesired -and the video reflected that, which it does not- I still don't see why this had to be shared with the rest of the world. People should realize some things are just for private eyes only)

The link posted above says Mazepin deleted the vid right after posting, but the reddit guy caught it before it was removed. The young lady is clearly having fun and consenting, her dress strap is down and she suggestively sucks on her finger. She has publicly said everything is cool.

So the problem is simply perception and association? I’m catching a whiff of puritanism and/or jealousy here.

For some of us being called "woke" is not an insult. No more so than being called Liberal, or a lefty.
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I've often heard a good definition of woke is a non-liberal lefty.
