There is no need for Mercedes to make the nose tip asymmetric because IT IS one single U shaped cross section 50mm behind it's tip.
This shape nose is closer to what the FIA intended in the first place. It fits more to the rules than the single and double phallic noses that we see being hung from the other cars.
