What graphics card do you run? AMD and NVIDIA have video capture software available so you dont need FRAPS

NVidia Quadro 2000 (not high performance, but certified for professional CAD).

The official framework is OCCFD, e pre-post for OpenFoam ( http://www.khamsinvirtualracecarchallen ... -click-cfd ) but some teams use other software.

thanks! I would like to try to build a car perhaps with 2015 rules, but is there a file with suspensions and other basic things?
PS. I use sketchup

Yes the template file includes suspensions, tyres, and internal dimensions. I think that the 2016 template will be available soon.

I've just noticed that cooling inner extrusions cannot intersect suspensions templates (as last year). Why? It doesn't seem to me that the suspensions elements represent a significant blockage to the airflow.
Can we change this part?

Yes, I think the same, especially for "option 2"

Been lurking on this thread for a while now, did I miss the conversation about the side impact structure being fixed?

2015 rules allowed rearward travel of 350mm and 150 downwards.

Can we continue those rules into 2016?

BTW, awesome video, Matteo. Hopefully we'll get to see more as the season proceeds. Engine sound could be better, though :D
Possibly other simulators support more friendly formats like STL? Does anybody know?

No, theoretically it would be possible, but there would be 2 limits:

1) the number if triangles of an stl with e decent level of detail would be too high

2) It would be impossible to use textures (needed to represent small details)

Driving simulators require high quality UV surfaces (3DS, Blender, Maya ... ).

Yes the sound is not that beauty ... it's the (poor) sample of a f1 3000cc v8 (and that KVRC engines reach 12500-12750 rpm, not 15000-16000 rpm).

Grand Prix 4 is probably your best bet as the models can be quite crude.

Registered as Britannia Racing. It was either that or Banshee Racing

Anyway. Finally got around to reinstalling the OCCFD again. Time to start practicing with SketchUp again :-)

How much ram is needed to do such calculations using an i7-6700hq cpu?
