Williams FW33

+1.

That's a bit risky, no? Could the design team not think of anything less controversial?
Perhaps Rothmans are sponsoring the team...?

I like it, it looks more alive than the test livery.
It doesn't try to be too retro as well.
It doesn't remind me of the rothman's livery for some reason. It has it's own appeal

Paper trail would be evident wouldnt it?

All sponsors have to be vetted and cleared since the Ferrari/Marlboro subliminal ad fiasco.

The red stripe, OK. The gold/grey one, not sure AT&T has either in their logo - a light blue stripe, would work, maybe?

Regarding Renault, for me, it's hard to believe they will get away with the JPS livery and I do think that is also controversial. The fact that people are using the words "JPS" and "Rothmans" to describe the livery of these cars makes them dubious with regards to the spirit of the tabacco advertising laws.

I agree, though I wish they'd retained the big numbers on the sidepods that they ran in their interim livery...
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Apparently one idea planned for 2012-2013 is the rear wing endplates will have to show the cars number and the drivers national flag

All the cars seem cool this year. Williams definitely on my partiality list. They did well to break free of their conservative impression.
One of the most aggressive liveries in years.

Sam Micheal on the design philosophy:

http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2011/02/24/sam-michael/

On the stiffness of the extreme rear suspension.
Producing such a small gearbox has meant an unusual driveshaft arrangement as well:

“The driveshaft angles that we’ve had to put the car through are very extreme. They’re higher angles than anyone’s ever done in Formula 1 before.

“That took a lot of dyno testing, we’ve completed many thousands of kilometres. The first time we started doing tests on the driveshaft was back in June last year. We had a full gearbox and rear end on the dyno by September/October time. We knew by then that we were under control with it.”

However he said the finished design did not force any compromises on rigidity:“The last part of the rear end which was something that was a concern to us to start with was the stiffness.

“But none of the stiffness of the gearbox on all parameters is lower than last year’s car. And once again there’s two or three tricks we had to apply and really take a non-conventional view to F1 suspension design to achieve that.

“As a result we haven’t had any problems with the stiffness of the car.”
For Sure!!

This is the livery it looks like the most. The stripes on the side and on the airbox gives it away pretty easy.

Pretty fun though to see people showing liverys that basically have nothing in common but claim it´s that livery it matches up best against.
The truth will come out...

It even matches with the gold and red stripes, a bit hard to see in that lighting.

I'm surprised there is no references to the FW-14B.

I really like the new livery and it definitely pays homage to the great liveries of the past! =D>
