Why is Renault forced to supply Red bull again? I’m pretty sure Renault will be very reluctant
I don't think so at all, Renault also was vocal it was a mistake by RBR leaving them and they will be out of customer teams next year. I am sure they will prefer two paying customers and a change to prove themselves over just being a one trick pony. it is RBR for who it would be hard to go back.
And despite the Honda engine performing OK, it doesn't bring them anything if they don't get their act together on the chassis and aero designs.Better integration with the PU, fine, but clearly their aero/chassis development people can not really well anticipating steps the competition is making.

Wow posts are lit today.
Now that Honda are leaving, they might produce a rocket next year like Brawn season. If next years engine is good, Redbull should buy the design and get a manufacturer like Cosworth to make the engines for coming years. They can do the electronics and integration and use contractors for engine R&D.

As for Honda, sad to see that they have failed again and leaving without glory. Still miles behind Mercedes and even Renault. Redbull isn't blameless either had they had a decent chassis it could have given Honda some reason to stay.

I know how you're feeling. Would have preffered they take a more "Renault" approach to F1. Less money and the idea of staying in the sport long term. C'est la vie as they say.

Could a 2022 Redbull Mugen be an option? Where Mugen produces a frozen 2021 Honda powerunit

It would be interesting when RBR got Honda's decision. I guess it didn't came by surprise today.

What is so interesting about which day? Does it matter? Yesterday or the day before?

What a sad day for F1. For me Honda had the sympathy because their endurance/perseverence, in not giving up after the tough years with McLaren. Now with another utter dominance year by Merc it is obvious that the affiche marketing wise is not good for Honda. That combined with tough economic conditions because of Covid19 I can understand it.

With Ferrari last year trying to be on top with grey area solution and now Honda pulling out one wonders what the next step will be. Will the rumour of Merc leaving as a team and staying a PU supplier come true, then the future of F1 is at stake. But may be Liberty is fine with that: an expensive spec serie with only one supplier?

Max is probably looking somewhere else now. I wont be surprised seeing him going to McLaren, or Aston Martin in 2022. But we'll see, first the dust needs to be cleared for a better picture.

The Race mentioned in their article that Red Bull was told in August.

What if Red Bull buy out Williams engine contract?
Mercedes will probably have something in the contract with Williams that prevents that. I think it's
unlikely that Mercedes will ever want to supply Red Bull given all the criticism Horner and co
chucked at Renault. Not sure Ferrari would want to supply Red Bull either.

Either Red Bull goes back to Renault with it's tail tucked between it's legs or they get key PU components from Honda and get another company to build the ICE and then slap a Red Bull badge on it.

Since RB claims '2022' is their chance on a WDC, they have a plan already. I now also look different on Max' comments on the engine of recent, as he must have known. I also understand his frustrations now they're observable in a different light.

I think we're in for much more of a shock than just Honda pulling out. Negotiations with Hamilton and Merc have come to a halt, 'panic' in the F1 world, there are things in movement and i'm just wondering when this merry go round will stop and how it'll shape 2021/2022.

Is RB going to pull the plug?

It communicated its potential F1 exit to Red Bull in August before committing to concluding its participation a few days ago – a decision rooted in needing to “pour our focus, our engineering, our resources” to its environmental initiative.

What's your source for Hamilton's negotiations coming to a halt? First I've heard of it.
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

F1 viewership increased thanks to Honda. And in the last two years, the best and most memorable races are the ones that a Honda PU won. Austria, Germany, and Monza. I was fortunate to have gone to Suzuka 2015 and 2019.
I don't care what the situation will be like in 2021 but I will make sure to smuggle my ass into Suzuka 2021 for our home race. If another car takes out Max again I swear I am going to go nuclear.

Once Honda leaves, a ton of F1 viewership and interest will with it. On the bright side, at least I will get more sleep on the weekends. Unless Tsunoda earns a seat at AT and brings some Honda sponsorship...

Edit: whoever voted this down and said that Honda just makes motors and doesn't bring fans is a dumbass.
