Mercedes AMG F1 W03

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Well, it's been a while since the cascades are gone....

Plus, it seems they are developing or evolving the fw torwards some other direction now.

You already know the reason. Why add frontal downforce when you need it at the rear?
The car cannot compete with the top 3 simply because it doesn't have the numbers at the rear to then add cascades to the front.
More could have been done.

Yeah.

The upgrades after the summer will be make or break.

In short there isn't updates on FW that we didn't saw before. They will just try what they have until now. They also have new chassis - Nico from Silverstone(7) and Michael from Germany(9).

If you count taking the cars back to Brackley and washing them as an update then yes, the car has been updated.

Another weekend without updates and I wonder, this team want to be a championship contender? If you think that you need half of a second and you don't do nothing to catch it... The Magic doesn't exist in F1!

Nice view of how the plank step in the floor has a curved surface to the main floor. On most cars it's more angular.

We are 1 second behind the top teams with the option tyre. Our strong point has disappeared. I can't imagine how will be our race pace... This team is frustrating, disappointing and regrettable!

Don't jump to conclusions already - fuel levels could be to blame for that. Had it not rained then we would of seen the actual pace over a single lap on the options.

interesting/funny (?) to see that MSC, still seem to have/see a need/benefit/liking for a watch in his cockpit.
Something "sentimental" in the high tech world of F1?

on a side note:
Can anyone produce a better photo/angle to see the diagram at the LHS , because that does not look like
a normal/typical track map to me?

Is the raised body work holding the small timer part of the required roll structure?
