Unfortunately I'd agree with the garage. If I was buying a Ferrari from a main dealer I'd want them to be highly professional on every level right down to the coffee they serve . Their service needs to be appropriate for the amount of money I'm handing over.

From the perspective, selling cars has to appeal to the buyer's emotions, every buyer is told the car is perfect for them, we got it in just for someone like you, it's a rare model, you're lucky to have a chance to buy this one etc. The buyer is in the mindset that it is their personal car before they test drive it. The danger is that seeing some kid playing with the car and getting his greasy fingers on the shiny gear shift shatters that illusion.

I think you'd be best going for a car club, that's an environment where the owners want to share their pride and joy with everyone.

By the way I'm finding the opening line of "Welcome to the 458" with a 458 logo gives the impression that you are reviewing at a 458, but then you say "I'm going to show you a BMW". It's a bit muddled.

Oh, and be careful not to make comments on public forums about people you want to do business with, what if they read what you said about them?

Hey

Yes my username is a little confusing, i'm planning on waiting to get a small following before i set up a new account otherwise i've put so much hard work into my current channel, what is the point in changing it now, i'm not sure if i can change it without making a new channel but even if i could watching my old videos back i would still say my old name and that would still confuse people.

If you are going to buy a 599 for example a video of me showing you all of its features shouldn't put you off buying it, its the car your paying for after all not the media that is supplied on it, selling cars is nothing to do with my reviews and after all like i said if you are that bothered that a video on a Ferrari only has 200 views that you do not buy that Ferrari, you're completely insane, if anything it would promote the dealership to me as they would obviously be open to new ideas and that's really good.

And as for the statement about " a kid playing with the car and getting his greasy fingers on the shiny gear shift" Age is just a number my friend and if people are stuck up about a 15 year old innocently trying to showcase one of his favorite cars for a hobby, and not Jeremy Clarkson doing burnouts and shouting about them, sometimes criticizing them, what gives him more right over me to even sit in the car is the question? I would agree with you on earlier videos but i think my videos are fairly professional now, i have only ever found 1 dealer where i don't feel unwelcome and thats caralot,in my opinion people who work at dealers need a passion for cars otherwise whats the bloody point, when i ring up asking if i can do a review the first thing that happens is i get given a different email address. I enquired about a Mercedes SLS AMG the other day and got passed on to someone else 4 times and then was told "we don't do these type of things because the cars are for sale" i just want to speak to an informed person and not be passed around like a Chinese whisper.

Anyway i'm happy with what i have got and what has been achieved i'm very lucky to have the opportunity to do these reviews.

I should be careful about what i say yes, i find it hard choosing the right words to make me sound less, agitated haha.

Don't underestimate the importance of image and branding in selling things. For example the SLS at my local Merc dealer has a rope barrier around it to create an illusion of something that is untouchable for mere mortals. They're not going to want a kid with a wobbly hand held video shatter that illusion. Sorry about the kid reference, but that's what the dealers will be thinking.

Also, you need to get ultra precise with your details. If you don't know what something is then find out about it before you film. I've already mentioned the welcome home lights on the Golf. Another example I noticed was the colour of the BMW, rather than "dark blue or navy" you need to know the proper name. On the Nissan 350 you say the screen in the dashboard is the start-up screen screen for the DVD ROM, surely that screen is the satnav, is it also a multi media console, does it also control the vehicle's management system?

It might help to download the brochure for the cars you are reviewing then you'll get the language and jargon in your mind beforehand.

Hmm, i will not argue theres no point you're right, it just means i need to further improve my videos, BMW 750Li tomorrow, expect my mistakes from previous videos to have been eradicated.

Whats up!

Great news, my channel has been inactive for almost 2 weeks now, that's because a prestige car dealer WANTS me to come in school hours and film every one of these cars! There car list includes, Audi R8, Ferrari 360 Modena, the new Audi RS4 Avant, the best modified Supra in the UK and a 1989 Porsche 911, very rare, there is alot more anyway i have been organizing that with my school and the dealership.
I will be filming all there cars so i'll make time to film maybe 1 or 2 cars there for my Youtube channel not sure which ones yet
here is the link to there website: http://www.benzbavarian.co.uk

this place is the coolest dealer i've been to so far on my ventures! Cars are kept in pristine condition and they don't me and my assistant Olly coming to film for them, i have an assistant now, he likes to come with me and help film in return for cake and a little shoutout at the end, i am yet to pull any "chicks" with my channel, i'll be honest about 10% of the reason i started my channel was to do with girls! In terms of my career aspirations i have 3 ideal career paths i would like to go down.
1 Car Salesman, alot of people question this but i don't want to work for a normal car organization i would like to work for Lamborghini or Ferrari!

2: Work at a garage, this is my last resort if the other 2 don't work out.

3: Motoring Journalism, what i want the most

I think at the current time a car salesman would be the most realistic job to apply for, i reckon i would be great at it!

Anyway i'll update people on progress and stuff.

Bye

Hey

I am visiting that dealership this Tuesday, i have also done a review on a Suzuki Swift Sport 2014 model which was quite a change from my normal huge engines bla bla 8000 horsepower V16 jargon, that videos quite popular now nearly 700 views in 3 nearly 4 weeks, great! While i'm at this dealership i'll get some nice car reviews done, i haven't had a true supercar on my channel for a while now so i'll revive that with a Ferrari or an Audi R8, i have found a Ford Thunderbird which is quite tempting not many of them around!

Anyway have a nice day

I haven't given up! Just not been updating people, filmed a video on the 2013 Suzuki S Cross today, i've successfully made the jump from supercars to family cars, as far as my work with this dealership, everythings going well, i'm making a video on the Audi R8 V10 Spyder and the Spyker C8 Spyder, also it looks good for me to be able to get a look at the Bugatti Veyron! That will come later on though, in the meantime you'll have to do with this Suzuki.

As far as Ferrari goes they've stopped replying to my emails, i now have 993 subscribers and thats not a big enough audience for them, i don't know if they expect me to become famous or get my own television show but i get the impression that they don't want me to do a video on there cars anyway, i called my local Ferrari dealership to ask if i could film a car that wasn't a Ferrari and was met with "i don't agree with you filming one of our cars at all" on the phone.

That's exactly what they expect to even consider talking to you. It's how they run their marketing strategy. Don't knock it because it's very successful for them.

Actually, even well established motoring journalists have problems getting access  http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =11&t=9518

Hmm, i don't know, i'm going to stick to the less PR crap type of dealerships, as much as i don't really agree with there marketing strategies and certainly don't agree with becoming a marketing tool for them myself i cant do diddly squat about the first one. That journalist was slightly less formal than i was, did i get a slight impression that Ferrari are over exaggerating there specs for the car from that article?

Moving on i actually have access to an official Suzuki garage 10 minutes away from me and filmed a brand new Suzuki S Cross, the video will be up soon, i worked very hard on making this one in depth, also an official Mercedes Benz dealership is interested in allowing me to film a brand new car there, hopefully i can gain access from there to the more prestigious dealerships, such as BMW and Audi.

I understand how you are looking from a business perspective, as is Ferrari, but why does everything have to be money related , Ferrari was supposedly built on the foundations passion and emotion, there is no passion in this company in my eyes i'm afraid.

As promised the Suzuki SX4 S Cross, made modifications to the voiceover portion, making them more in depth now.

Hello

First of all i would like to say happy holidays! I hope Christmas goes well for you all.

Well this has been a belter of a year! I achieved more than i could of ever anticipated, 11 months ago i never thought i would be getting the keys to R8's and XK's its a dream come true and to top it off i have the second most viewed Youtube channel in my school! I'm sure if my channel was makeup tutorials and nail painting i would be racking up the females, unfortunately not, disappointing. but seriously to you it may not seem like a big achievement but i've never been able to commit to anything and to think that i built this little hobby up myself and spent many hours trying my hardest really makes me proud, it can only get better in 2014 and i'll find new exciting cars to film and my videos will always be evolving.

I really want to thank everyone who read and replied on this thread, your contribution is greatly appreciated and your all my favourites!

And to send myself off in style for this year here is a Jaguar XKR cold start and rev, i'll see you all early in January!
