For me its just fantastic to see the Renault yellow....all its misssing now is the Telefonica and Mild Seven blue.

The Brazilian website Grande Prêmio (Grand Prix) is saying that Maldonado payment is late and he might end up replaced.
It says Magnussen is the favorite in case that becomes reality.

I think that's just a PR move, to judge how well Magnussen would be received at Renault by the public. I'm sure Maldonado will be doing his thing for one more year.

Yep, think he was late (or rumored to be late) last year, too. May just be a tactic to get PDVSA to pay up as agreed without resorting to anything else.

PDVSA normally pay each summer for the following season's sponsorship, but while the team's sale was being negotiated last season they didn't have to pay. If the contract is the same as with Williams, the PDVSA sponsorship doesn't actually require Maldonado be the contracted driver, just that there has to be a Venezuelan in the car every session.

The Williams contract said PDVSA would select the driver, it didn't even specify nationality, but obviously Venezuelans is what they want.

If Renault wants to go for Ceccoto or somebody else they'll need to convince PDVSA.
