I doubt he'll win the WDC here, but unless Bottas can finish way ahead of him then Lewis may well win it in Austin.MtthsMlw wrote: ↑22 Oct 2019, 10:35Ham wins the WDC:
* If he wins and gets fastest lap, Bottas needs to finish at least third.
* If he wins and does not get fastest lap, Bottas needs to finish at least fourth.
* If he is second (irrespective of fastest lap), Bottas needs to finish seventh or higher
* If he is third and gets fastest lap, Bottas must finish eighth or higher.
* If he is third and does not get fastest lap, Bottas needs to finish ninth, or 10th with the fastest lap.

Does not seem like it - because despite Penalties and Penalty points being handed out you are still bickering about it two weeks later
it's even possible to win the WDC ... it could be Vettel or Leclerc wins, Hamilton gets second, Verstappen 3rd, means that one of the Ferrari's can finish ahead of Bottas, which will meaning, he'll finsih 5th .... this way the title goes to Hamilton ....ubuysa wrote: ↑22 Oct 2019, 11:30I doubt he'll win the WDC here, but unless Bottas can finish way ahead of him then Lewis may well win it in Austin.MtthsMlw wrote: ↑22 Oct 2019, 10:35Ham wins the WDC:

Those "penalties" were joke. What would we be saying if that bit from Lec's car hit Hamilton in the head in a similar fashion to Massa accident?? he could have been in hospital. Lec should have immediately shown orange flag, period. Vettel overstepped start procedures and no one cares. If it was Hamilton the same people who are supporting FIA would have wanted FIA's head.Mandrake wrote: ↑22 Oct 2019, 11:38Does not seem like it - because despite Penalties and Penalty points being handed out you are still bickering about it two weeks later
And yes you are right. six double championships is a mighty achievement for Mercedes. Hands down the best cars produced in the history of Formula One! I doubt any other manufacturer will be able to produce something similar in the decades to come.
On the BBC website https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/50143535 Mercedes are talking down their chances, so you know they're expecting to do well.zibby43 wrote: ↑23 Oct 2019, 04:44James Allison explaining the challenges (both the aerodynamic and PU-related challenges) of running in Mexico.
Mentions that cars with "particularly fine high-downforce package[s]" tend to go well there. I think that Mercedes will perform better than in recent years, so long as their PU can cope. High demands on the cooling components.

The high altitude should reduce Mercedes drag deficit and their higher downforce should help them. I guess it will all come down to how effective the cooling package is at altitude.
I am totally with you. LEC shows a habit of totally disobeying any team order whatsoever. The team should maybe have told him there are bits hanging off the car. But the team clearly called him in. I believe there is no defined penalty for a situation like this....so the fine to Ferrari is probably all they could do.foxmulder_ms wrote: ↑22 Oct 2019, 20:24Those "penalties" were joke.
