There will/would be a difference between F1 and all other cars, and that for F1 it would make more sense to make a system like that hydraulic instead of electric. And probably just a matter of time. First steps are made: throttle by wire, brake (for a bit) by wire, etc etc.
For road cars, especially in combination with EV, you can truly have a emulation car, bit like digital guitar amp.
With the addition of a clutch pedal and a gear leaver (only connected to the ECU), you could program the car to emulate different cars. Go to work in a Ferrari 288 GTO and have fun in a 1965 GT40.
It'd be a real BIG ASK, for an anodyne EV to effectively emulate the visceral feel/sound/aroma of
a brutish 427 Ford powered GT40, let alone its actual performance - being capable of punching out
320+ km/h runs - for hour after hour (with short pit stops) all day long,`60s sports-racing crudities 'n' all...
