The gap between Redbull and the next best in qualifying is going to be huge this time. Would not be surprised if it's over one second. If checo doesn't qualify top 2 it would be a really bad job by him. With the long straights and high speed corners this is a Redbull haven.
I am expecting Max to be told to throttle it back soon. In fact, he may already have been told but in 'Max style' disregarded the instruction. If it keeps looking obvious that one car (should I say team??) is so far in front of everyone else they will be looking for some reason to clip its wings 'for the show'.

Possibly already the car has not had full range in qualifying, but it has to be released for the race as there may be unforeseen things. I also suspect the same happened at Merc when there was not a direct fight between the two drivers.
I believe he's already been holding back. You can see how close everyone seems at times, but he immediately pulls out of DRS from everyone, then just manages. No one is ever really as close as they seem to be.

I think there's a better chance of Seargent getting a P2 than Max getting a P2.

In sunday's race max could lap the whole field except checo. Such would be the pace.
Let's remember last year and that this year the car is even better!
I hope Checo can qualify at front and try to challenge Max at least.
How is that possible when Checo has failed to finish second in I don’t know how many races. Max does then not lap him, but does lap people in front of him?
This track is wide and open enough for even checo to be up to P-2 in 20 laps if he started in say P-15.
For Sure!!

This track yes. But if it rains, is damp, I don’t think Checo will be there.

If it rains so that wets are required (rather than just inters), I'd guess it'll be red flagged anyway.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Last year Perez was 0.8 behind Max in quali and got P3. I think getting P2 should easily be attainable for him in Quali

Fabrega is saying heavy rain today, moderate rain tomorrow and the day after. Minimal rain on Sunday. If it goes like that, its the best possible outcome for a wet weekend. Ideally i'd like to see dry sessions all weekend but the Gods have different ideas it seems.

Hopefully, the rain stays away at the weekend.

Angle of attack looks quite low on some of these.

I have never seen this, but is this correct?
Very little difference between Left and Right Front, I would expect high strain in Pouhon (double left) on front right. It more seems related to speed. Start/Finish straight heavy on the fronts?
Or are F1s really that balanced that all tyres are almost equally loaded?
It is a lot different for my road car when driving on Spa.
