Williams FW47

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

So, after looking throgh a lot of pictures and reading everything I could find, The car looks to be an agressive evolution of FW46.
It has an entirely new nose cone and front wing, similar to the McLaren and RB cars.
Front brake ducts are smaller, even tho the inlets are about the same, but the outlets are smaller and more complex (I cant find the picture where I saw that).
Front suspension is still pullrod, but it has new geometry, more agresive antidive. there is no new halo aero.
Engine cover is lower (shorter behind the airbox) and narrover (it is streight at the Gulf logo, and not buldged out).
I didn't see any good pictures of the watterslides, but I asume that they are there, the air to them should be less disturbed, becouse the line around the headrest is streighter than last year.
Udercut is huge, and it even turns upwards, the line where the floor mits the chassis is smoother and less disruptive. Floor edger look to be more comlex.
It has 2025 Mercedes rear end with push rod suspension.
The high downforce rear wing I think is the same as last year, but the low DF one is new, with detached edges of the upper plane at the endplate.
The color looks good, I hope that the official racing livery is even better.

New medium load BW for this season. It was there during launch, but obscured on purpose - along with entire rear end of course

Looks much more "normal" on the images shared by Vanja a couple of replies earlier. The shadows play some trickery on the closeups.
I just spotted the flow-viz on the Mercedes. The big SIS bumps are absolutely being used intentionally as an outwashing element to try and clear the air before it flows over the floor edge wing. There was absolutely zero flow-viz behind the edge wing and there were some very clear lines that indicated that the SIS bump was outwashing pretty heavily.

Obviously that doesn't conclusively prove that it's being used in the same way on the Williams, but I'd argue it very much indicates a similar intention. Obviously it isn't necessarily the primary purpose of the SIS placement, it could have just as much to do with the floor inlet, but I do still believe it's intentionally placed very high up at least in part to promote outwashing.

Interesting eye ball analysis of the past two days running from the Race. I'd really like to see some race sims and the comparisons so we have a better guess on where Williams stands.

Really want Williams to be closing in on the top 4!
