Exactly, they have a big screens with cars presented as coloured dots so the pitwall knows exactly who is where at any given time.

But regardless of that, both drivers got told to slow down to crawl speed when the qualifying wasnt over. Mistake one by the mclaren pitwall. If the drivers claim they suddenly saw cars all over the place they werent informed on time. Mistake 2 by the pitwall. Therefore I find it a bit cynical that Mclaren now claims to hope for new regulations.

Curious to know wha the FIA will do for he next GP. Im sure theyll let their stance known before the end of this week.

I've sat and watched - live - those systems and they would be relatively useless for telling a driver when to move over when there are more than two cars on the track. They don't tell you what side of the track a car is on for a start, and they are basic representations of track position. By the time the engineer said "he's a couple of corners behind you" it'd be all over at the speed the cars move.

Live footage would be their best bet but the teams generally get what is on TV - give or take.

In the end the practical solution seems to be to force the cars to maintain a minimum lap time.. Other than that, this problem will just get worse.
