In the (usual) absence of Scotland, I will be supporting whoever England is playing against!

But seriously, I'm rooting for Brazil.

Nah, they were formed for the sole purpose of every 4 years the whole of England deludes itself, then gets booted out and provides endless opportunities for us to laugh at their excusses.

Possibly andrew,

But they do have the very enviable distinction of having won the darn thing!
Its more than the rest of the UK can say right?

I do have to say in 1966 the only reason England won was because Nobby Stiles broke Eusebio's leg with a quite shocking tackle.... in the 6th minute

Eusebio's response? Scored a goal with a long range volley from distance...with the broken leg!

1966 was Portugals year but for Nobby bloody Stiles #-o

We'll see but I am supporting every team that England are playing against. That's the Scottish way! There are as many jock ex-pats all over the place, we can honestly support any team in the world.

Hmmm I was struggling for a second to find somthing you lot were good at.
I then googled "famous scots"....... #-o

Quite a few then lol

Still, any country with battered mars bars is doing okay in my book.
How did they get around Eu legislation on that fried heart* attack???? :-k

Edited....

Yes all this talk of food is making me hungry. Off for a deep fried sea gull with a deep fried mars bar for afters, and a can of Irn Bru. Anymore Scottish cliches I can get in there? :wtf:

In the absence of Turkey I won't be supporting anybody (I know it's shocking).

I'll take my pick during the tournament. I like flamboyant style in football. The teams with static play / gameplan make me wanna puke.

Since this thread is about football, the least would be to put "football" in the title. There are a lot of sports with World Cups and I don't think logic to omit that you are refering to another sport... this is a F1 forum!

Should be an interesting weekend.

Germany vs Australia in the world cup
Germany vs Australia in the Canadian GP

As an Australian living in Germany, I think I will be in the middle of it all.

I think I will just stay home all weekend
