Just common sense from myself and a number of real life driver´s backing that statement up.

The skip barber is a good example. To be really fast you need to drift it.
Why? Because the tire model doesn´t punish you, it actually helps you go in the direction you were ment to.
Which is totally different to what real life drivers are saying.
The slip angle window is way to big and it doesn´t work realistically.

Another is the V8 Supercar, that you only have to watch an onboard to realise just how damaged the the tire model is.

and also backed up by Shane Van Gisbergen. Real life V8 driver.
