The team will be called Marussia Virgin Racing this year...they will change the name...raymondu999 wrote:I believe Marussia is a title sponsor and not part of the name. Like Vodafone in McLaren's name
Yeahraymondu999 wrote:No what I'm saying is, it's not really part of the team name. The team name is still Virgin (like McLaren is still McLaren and Ferrari is still Scuderia Ferrari) but it will be included in the name like Marlboro for Ferrari and Vodafone like McLaren
I've just had the confirmation.Lurk wrote:Yep, but they achieved that since several years ago. I think even a GP2 car can achieved something like that (maybe 2 or 3kg?) but I'll ask for confirmation.
Virgin surely had pickup problem, but I don't think they'd had more than 4-5kg on their tank. Or they have nothing to do in Formula one!
5kg is already 1.5 to 2.5 tenth lost by lap. 23kg is more than 1 second!
Virgin clueless yet again, why name the car model number after the title sponsor?H. Zedozil wrote:Their 2011 chassis will be called Virgin MVR-02 http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2011/01/21/v ... ruary-7th/
...sigh, Because Marussia is more than a title sponsor, they have a controlling stake in the Virgin team, they'll soon race under a russian license.warmasice wrote:Virgin clueless yet again, why name the car model number after the title sponsor?H.
