You are aware that the likelihood of water freezing, all hell over of it, is quite larger than the chances of Spain ever winning a world cup, aren't you?
No, wait, that was before, we are past quarter finals now, it is a dream, I feel strange, we are invincible!
After we win it, we'll eat Paul! A la gallega!

Two years ago, before Spain world Euro 2008, I was so disappointed by the national football team it wasn't even funny. Beating Italy in a penalty shootout was a signal from god, but even now I can't believe Spain won it. Now they may win or they may lose, but I never ever thought I was going to see them past quarterfinals. Which was even frustrating after seeing teams like South Korea do it.

Anyway, let me tell you that, two years ago in the Moyua square (Bilbao, and by the way, that "square" is circular) you had people waving spanish flags and singing "no estamos todos, falta el lehendakari". Top quality stuff!
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

You have taken our favourite artist Micheal Jackson, our favourite actor Patrick Swayze, our favourite actress Farah Fawcett and our favourite entertainer Ramses Shafy.

Cheesehead!

I know from afrikaans!

Kaas = cheese and Kop = head!

Any liverpool fans will do well to know their favourite corner of anfield (the kop) is named after the hill that the brits lost to the boers in the war!

Anyway, lekker bly en ek hoop dat nederland wen die sokker!

I am Dutch, but that last sentence that you made. I can't make anything out of it xD

I think it is:

Very happy and i hope that The Netherlands win the football.

If so then this is the right sentence:

lekker blij en ik hoop dat nederland de wedstrijd wint!

Mmm... maybe JET speaks "american dutch" (Surinam anyone?) and replaces "wedstrijd" with "sokker"?

No no, I speak fluent Afrikaans.

It is a language descended from the dutch that is used by 80 percent of the population in South Africa.

Wedstryd or match has connatations of Rugby...hence why I call it "sokker" :D

That is true, But in South Africa they got funny words for everything:

Rock N Roll: Ruk en Pluk

But I never heard Sokker in Holland, only in my English class

It was an interesting and entertaining game on Saturday. Today Spain will win IMO.

If i played in the Dutch football team, i would first kick the referee death! And then the side-line referee! The only way the referee could be MORE fore the Spain team was if he just bought a Spain shirt and wore it in the game

And second of all, i would eat that stupid octopus Paul

The match was OK, Spain played well as did Holland. But if the referee didn't choose Spain side as he did now it would been a much better game!
