Ferrari F2012

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Can one of you aerodynamic Jedi's please draw what the airflow will do around these, please? I'd like to understand what they are doing and pictures are worth a 1,000 words...thanks.

If I can go back to the pic from China, it looks like this for me. Pity we don't have original picture only the one with yellow elipse.

I would reserve judgement until I see a better picture of that part.

I initially saw the wings but the zoomed in picture you've posted seals it as a reflection for me. You're just seeing a couple of strip lights reflected in the side of the car with the contours in that area distorting it into looking like a couple of wings.

Either way one of us is going to look a bit silly :)

The old winglet is certainly gone, so I'm guessing that those are no reflections.

I kinda hope you're right. Then we can proudly state that we were among the very first people in history to ever see reflections that have their shadows.

From this pic I cant see what claimed to be small winglet in from of the to edge of the sidepod inlet.
