Following the demotion of Ron Dennis as the company's chief, McLaren Technology Group has announced that Zak Brown has accepted the position of Executive Director. The former McLaren F1 driver is set to start work in December.
This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
I actually think Capito was brought in to allow Ron to focus on the McLaren technology group and I genuinely think that McLaren may be calling this badly wrong.
Ron made bold ass calls these past couple of years with Honda but they will come good and proven correct if they stick with it.
Dennis gone, Capito gone. It should be Tim Goss next but knowing McLaren it will be Prodromou!

Why was he even hired? I never understood that.
Ron said "the VW rally team seems pretty good, let's throw some money at their top guy. Oh really? I wasn't aware rallying has nothing to do with f1. Hire him anyways. He's good at beating teams with one eighth of his budget."
And that's how it all went down.

“I've got to be careful what I say, but possibly to probably Juan would have had a bigger go”

And yet it worked for Todt and Ferrari...
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"
"We work as one team with Honda to achieve what we want.”
How can you work as "one" when you are constantly humiliating your Engine partner with unrealistic claims?
He is right. He said McLaren would have won if they had the best engine, not Mercedes engine. If Honda had 100 + HP over the Mercedes PU, then McLaren would have won. On the other hand, he could have also said, if we had the best chassis this year, we would have won. I have no words on why he has to say these things. Then people wonder why Arai-san and EB didn't get along and why Hasegawa-san just tolerates him.
