Everyone tooling around waiting for a safety car. Is this the race version of Monza Q3?
I don’t get this. LeClerc will have to pit at some point. All Hamilton has to do is wait until he pits and then wait until LeClerc pits and watch him lose time behind the pack and then pit 2 laps later.

They hope that a gap opens in the midfield when the other runners start to pit. So it would be possible to come back out and have a free track for a few laps atleast.

The advantage of pitting under safety car will be lost if they continue to circulate at safety car pace anyway.

Mercedes sat twiddling their thumbs again while Ferarri make 2 great calls, you could clearly see the gap a few laps before as well.

Mercedes just threw both drivers under the bus. Vettel, Leclerc, Vestappen is the podium now.

If we can see the gap on the live timing screen, what were Mercedes looking at, terrible strategy.

HAM may be going for mediums and a huge tyre advantage. But can he pass on track then.

Ham to mediums and be fast is Ham's only hope, surely.

Wow, they went for hards. What is Mercedes's plan? Are they trying to give everyone else a nice weekend?

OK, we finally have a "Valtteri, it's James." moment in 2019. James requires Bottas to "work as a team.", and be 3s slower than his currect laptime, just to give space to Lewis.

Hamilton's tyre advantage won't be enough. They wasted a lot of race time leaving him out for so long
