Leclerc’s times look very stable on the C1’s.

Being the on the Harder end of the tyre compounds, this isn’t a major surprise.

Max’s stint in the 1:37’s for 15+ laps on the Mediums though…

He didn't reach 326 during his fast lap yesterday though, 320kph was his fast lap yesterday.

Doesn't change the fact that the RBR looks great from that video and the consistency is also great.

One thing that teams do to "hide" their true potential is put the engines in a low power mode when doing "lowish" fuel runs.
Somewhat useless when the opposing teams have live telemetry and GPS data these days... but they still do it.

With the GP being just around the corner i'd also say there's no reason not to go all out, nobody is gonna improve massively between now and race weekend, if they have upgrades arriving race weekend they'll still have them no matter what.
But there's also no reward for showing your cards and teams seem to enjoy the mind games...

Anyway, that is a sweet handling car and Red Bull looks like they have plenty in their pocket, no idea if Ferrari or anyone else is gonna be able to compete.

Looking at data from Perez, leclerc and hamiltons race sims. Ignore the relative performance. What seems obvious is that each had their most impressive stints on the C1 tyre. Maybe this new compound is very good and we'll see teams try to maximize the time they spend on it. Should change the strategy a lot from last year when they used mediums/softs mostly.

Nobody is anywhere near their max performance yet. We've seen even from FP3 to Q2 there tends to be a big difference in 'turning things up'. Also, that's another lap just like yesterday that would have been disqualified due to blatant track limits. Not to say it invalidates the times he's doing overall, but this will definitely have to be reigned in.

A bit sensationalist from F1 Data there… 4km/h higher, whilst noticeable, could easily be explained by higher engine/deployment modes etc.

Let alone what modes Red Bull ran when they clocked 324km/h on their fastest lap of the day…

I mean they’re using essentially the wrong rear wing for the circuit. It seems logical that this would lead to (a) higher top speed on the straight (b) both suboptimal lap time and tyre wear.

Why exactly they’re doing that is another question.

It is time to Ferrari put on a new rear wing, because the old one just broke...

Again, I’m not sure it’s right to assume that Ferrari is going to be running a higher downforce rear wing… this might be how it’ll be run at most tracks this year, with the exception of high downforce tracks. I wouldn’t say Bahrain is that sort of track, given the straights… maybe it’s what Ferrari is doing to try and bring down the deficit to Red Bull in terms of top speed.

I think Bahrain is usually a mid-high DF track, Ferrari won last year with a high DF package. The fact it's rear limited really benefits from higher DF in the rear to prevent sliding under acceleration out of slow corners.

Leclerc was 328kph on the main straight again today. What was top speed of Russell?
