well well well.. we Mclaren fans can finally rest easy and watch silly season from the side lines

RedBull watching on with amusement as two teams weaken themselves in their efforts....
Could be a very good time to be a McLaren fan also.

Well the silly season has really exploded into action and intrigue. After a considerable time in the doldrums. Firstly looking at what the big announcement does for the immediate, the 2024 season. The speculation at Mercedes, and the tension at Ferrari of a dissatisfied Sainz - who really exceeded expectations (not mine) - will undoubtedly undermine much at both teams. Toto has lost control this last two plus years and recruitment will be a major headache. Fred is courting major tension potentially similar to Prost v Senna as Charles will feel the team is losing confidence in him. I really have a strong feeling of "what was Fred thinking to do this?"

Many here on this McLaren forum, in the past (where are you all now?), ridiculed Zak but it has to be said he played a blinder since taking the bold step of replacing Daniel and poaching Oscar, then quickly promoted Andrea to replace Seidl - both clearly huge upgrades which will pay dividends for years. Until the Lewis defection I was optimistic about McLaren taking over as RedBull's main challenger, now I'm CONFIDENT! Bring it!
