Renault R30

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The R30 run a triple plane wing with new wavy and longer upper fins . The endplates were also revised with the bottom only , sloping outwards , to raise the quantity of air passing under the wing .

Yesterdays diffuser looks like the old one...

Has anybody todays photo of R30 diffuser?

Today Kubicas R30 looks faster, he got 6 round trip with average of 1 19,4s, and fastest time 1 19,254s. Is it begin of the 40% of changes in R30?

Nose looks different either - or is it just the angle of the picture?
I looked at R30 photos present and from the past and... no conclusion... Sometimes I feel current R30 is slightly different, but sometimes it looks like the old one... It depends on the lighting.

All teams do this as a matter of course! Look through a pictorial review of testing, you will see mclaren, ferrari, renault and red bull do it nearly all the time.

Hmmm it appears that the "monster" diffuser is not so monster, rather the exits are further forward than say the redbull.

thanks a lot. I've been searching for this view... a view where we can see the hot air outlets and the DDD...

To me there seems to be a second set of ports for the diffuser that are further forward. If you look ahead of the upper control arms you can make out some round exits on each side. This is behind the exhaust exits and made of heat resistant materials. It's hard to see but it is there. Lighten up the image and you'll see what I mean.
