Ive been looking at what i call the "law of averages" and ave came accross something that i thought was intresting:

Mark Webber = 2 DNFs (EUR & ROK)
Sebastian Vettel = 3 DNFs (AUS, TUR& ROK)
Lewis Hamilton = 3 DNFs (HUN, ITA & SIN)
Jenson Button = 2 DNFs (MON & BEL)
Fernando Alonso = 1 DNF (BEL)
Felipe Massa = 1 DNF (JAP)
Robert Kubica = 3 DNFs (GBR, HUN & JAP)
Nico Rosberg = 2 DNFs (HUN & ROK)
Michael Schumacher = 1 DNF (MAL)
Rubens Barichello = 2 DNFs (MON & BEL)

I am looking at the law of averages thing and am thinking that theres another DNF in the line for Alonso. The rest have had 2 DNFs, he has only had one, altho Alonso has had more "outsiide the points finishes" than the others in two, where the rest have all had at least one or none in regaurds to the Red Bulls, i still recon he has a DNF in him. So he has a 50/50 chance of a DNF here and at Abu Dhabi.

WOW!!! Williams with Hulkenberg on pole! That's amazing guys. The gap is so huge as well! I wonder how the race pace will be for Williams to defend the position. Will he survive with those contenders behind him or not?

no comments on Rosberg wining?
to me very obviously this shows the drivers are quite dependend on their crew ...namely the tyre guys to be able to shine or not...suddenly all swaps around...

i really can't wait for this race

I hope Hulk has a good start, holds them all up and we should see some good overtaking between Vettel, Webber and Hamilton. Alonso is smart enough not to take the risk. Hamilton and Vettel need to.

Hi all,

interesting thought about Alonso`s DNF, but I dont think that Alonso should get one more DNF since Alonso already has had 2 DNFs. If you remember Alonso dnf not only in Belgium but also in Malaysia (engine blown out few laps before the end of the race after the problems he had with clutch whole race.). So maybe there are better candidates for DNF or out-of-points finish.

delighted as I am with hulk's pole I have very little faith on him being able to stay ahead of the big guns despite the fact that he has a full dry setup

on his out lap on slicks he went for it while the top runners had to be more circumspect , and for that reason his excellent lap was rewarded with the temperature required to make the tyres work , and from then on they kept improving

incidentally , someone mentioned qually being declared 'wet ' ; I wasn't aware there was such a thing

and if petrov set his Q3 best time on inters he can start on any tyre he likes , the rule only specifies that you will start on the set of tyres you qualified on if they were prime or option [ unless you wish to start on inters or wet's ], no specification otherwise

ps , any betting that button will start on prime's ; can't see if he can have any influence on the race unless he does , stay's out and defends
to the optimist a glass is half full ; to the pessimist a glass is half empty ; to the F1 engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be

sorry to break it to you, but there's no such thing as the law of averages.

Above the law that rules is the half life of engines. Alonso must be very careful. If they do not bet on Webber (at Red Bull) I think the world championship is relatively easy for Alonso. Regards, delacf

First pole in 11 years. Shows the engine is good but HRT, Virgin and Lotus are not utilising its full potential.

the engine talks is total rubbish in my view .You need an engine that lasts plus can be exploited to the full during its allocated lifetime.
I doubt any of the engines does not deliver what is needed in terms of power.

I highly doubt the engine had anything to do with Hulks pole lap, he got out on the slicks, pushed them hard, got them into the right temp window and the laps followed...big props to him i say.

FYI, Interlagos is in a tough neibourhood:

I wonder how the other teams are providing security for their personnel?
