Yep and they really improved sector 3 from Winter testing.

That has to be the highlight of qualifying... Low speed is still a weakness, but is massively better than it used to be in previous seasons.

Pre-season, who would have believed we'd be out qualifying Ferrari on merit!!

Well in all fairness they now have severely lacking engine in qualy. Leclerc is the better driver and their race pace should be better.

Ferrari doesn’t have the most powerful engine in the grid compared to last season, but I don’t think their engine lacks that much, especially compared to Renault and Honda (Mercedes does seem to be in a league of their own).

I don’t think that Leclerc is a better driver though compared to either Carlos or Lando, they are pretty equal in regards to race craft.

Good result as both cars have locked the 4th row. If we stay trouble free (including pit-stops) I can see us profiting from the copy point vs RedBull battle tomorrow especially as I think the copy point cars will be very fast at the start and aggressive into turn 1

He clearly meant that they can't access the qualifying modes in the race so they should drop towards McLaren on race pace.

Mercedes has to provide the same mode to the rest of Mercedes using teams... But Mclaren - Renault’s engine doesn’t have the same modes as the Mercedes PU, nothing wrong here.

Why do people keep saying that? We are slower than everyone in the top 15 —bar Kimi— in sector 3. Maybe they improved compared to winter testing, but obviously it’s not enough.

Edit: Just noticed Albon was slower than Norris In S3. My mistake

Well... Been a tenth down to both RP’s in S3, when the W10 last year was the strongest in the last sector shows a lot of improvement... I would be careful comparing the times against the ones in P11 - P15 since it seems that the track didn’t actually improve from Q2 to Q3.
