Even if you're rooting for the team or driver, the only sensible approach should be "I'll believe it when I see it".

why dont Aston bring Andrew Green he was super successful for in season development with limited budget and resources during Force India time instead of wasting a talent somewhere in aston it's better to bring him on table after summer break. Today Aston feel like Toyota day lots of budget with better infrastructure with less or no success.

they know better than us on their issue. we have to give some more time to those peoples. They are trying to identify and fix the issue but still no improvement. Lets wait and see second part of the races after summer break.

Not 100% confirmed yet, but it seems like Aston has picked up Enrico Cardile :

So I guess both (Krack and Fallows) will be fired.

There were reports that Stroll quadrupled the salary of Fallows for his technical director job at AMR (compared to his income at RBR as head of aero).

Stroll has deep pockets, and obviously Aramco is willing to pay what it needs to be at the top in 2026, but guys have to deliver too...

That is not necessarily a good thing though, and I am pretty certain is pushing some people away from Aston. F1 is not a single-person team so one person cannot be the deciding factor between being a winner or being a midfielder. You can take a position at Aston Martin and make a lot of money, but if the team doesn't deliver, you're gonna be on the hot seat very quickly.

The top engineers are probably at a point in their life where the extra money would be good, but not a differentiating factor for them, so the stress associated with the position is probably not worth it.

It's never a good thing, when there are too many changes at the top of the organisation, but F1 is purey about perfomance and something is clearly not right at AMR since the start of the season 2023. They built a great car for 2023, but all updates afterwards didn't work. Also the 2024 car has been rubbish since the start of the season, as the race pace is non existent. Now the car is slow in Q too...

They say Cardile is pushed out of Ferrari because Newey is going to Ferrari… so we will see

I feel they wasted the entire winter on making car more efficient and better drs for top speed. They got that but at what cost?? Chasing stable DF and better traction should have been the main priority with a little compromise on straight line speed.
I think the DRS efficiency is the air flow under the skin of the car. It isn't related to their problem. Dan said he put together a small team to do that early last year. Probably the first team of people they put on the car in 2023. It has to do with the placement and shapes of parts and free space between. You need to use the wind tunnel for that but that doesn't go against your wind tunnel time limitation. That limitation is for outside the skin, floor, diffuser, etc.

I don't think that time was wasted.

Plus the car that debut in 2024 was pretty good in comparison. It's just that they've seem to have stood still with their upgrades and everyone has moved forward.
What was interesting is that Aston actually had terrible DRS efficiency this weekend. The F1 telemetry Twitter had the report from qualy. Aston only gained 29km/h with DRS.Aston Martin's no-DRS speed was very high, which suggest to me that they lacked downforce overall. That's probably generally why they were so slow.

We have seen earlier in the year that Aston was able to have a large DRS delta, probably the largest on the grid. I don't really understand this Barcelona spec.
Where do they get DRS data from? There are no laps flat out with DRS disabled.

I like to use speed delta from finish line to speed trap. On my phone so I can't sort and message the data.

For those who say 'Rome was not built in 1 day', Aston was not born from scratch in 2021. They didn't wipe everything and start from scratch by hiring their first worker like Audi is doing.

Aston is the continuation of the Racing Point F1 team that produced the pink Mercedes and before that it was Force India since 2008. They are by no means F1 debutants and Haas is a younger team that Aston.

I think the current downgrade when Aston brings upgrades is because of the mercedes wind tunnel, let's see what they do with their own

Audi are buying a decent and historic team in Sauber. Where do you get starting from scratch?

AM have been through a major overhaul in engineering staff and a brand new factory

Mercedes seems to be fine now with their developments. I guess this is more about interpreting the data (tunnel and cfd) in the correct way and feed the simulator with the correct data. Although, which is a disadvantage, their current simulator is nowhere near the monsters of the top teams.
