That's not a given. Some cars improve grip on the rear, some improve on the front. Rubbering in doesn't always give a stronger front. In Barcelona for example the McLarens were getting quite a bit understeery in free practice as the track gripped upGilles 27 wrote:Understeering on the FP1 as usual in Monaco, would disapear when more grip on the track is.
That is something that Felipe should know

Yeah, its a drivers track.ArchAngel wrote:Also encouraging is that they've gone faster than last year's FP1 benchmark time.
...And Karthikeyan is faster than PdLR and the Marussias!
Flexi-wings. Search for that in the forum and you can read a ton of debate over the last two years.Redragon wrote:Not a technician but I wanted to point out something.
While raining the bbc streaming were showing in slowmotion of how the cars passed over the kers on same spot.
I notice that redbull front wings elements move not only up and down but also left-right as they were hunging
The most movement, it is second on big flap in front tyres and the two top elements with little flaps.
The mclaren in comparasion only moved the top elements with little flaps
And rest like williams, lotus don't move much, not to say nothing at all.
Any thoughts?
To clear things up, Karthikeyan ran with upgrades during FP1 while de la Rosa did not as he was setting baselines for it all.ArchAngel wrote:...

Sure, you right, but i mean it, contrary as in Barcelona (permanent circuit) the track in monaco give more grip, the more you drive, thus changing driving behavior of the car, during the three free training sessions, more than on a permanent track.... But when the rain comes,....raymondu999 wrote:That's not a given. Some cars improve grip on the rear, some improve on the front. Rubbering in doesn't always give a stronger front. I know about the flexi-wings but It is how they move how it is interesting me. As they don't flex only down and up. they behave as they are hunging like a lamp so the move in all directions. The only part rigid it is the external (down area and sides) were FIA apply weight testvolarchico wrote:Flexi-wings.
