Jesus Verstappen was even slower than Leclerc when the rain started to fall in the first stint. What sort of a diabolical setup RB cooked this weekend?
Max requested 4 more clicks on the FW for the 2nd stint. It was an error setup wise. Strange this was not detected on the lap to the grid. In the first laps you could already see the car would not turn in the slower sections.

This lack of front led to the graining, higher deg, resulting in slow laps just before the switch to inters.

The pace on inters could be explained again by tyre pressures. He lost when it was wetter, and started gaining significantly just before the switch back to slicks.

Absolutely and Max hates understeer. He loves a good front-end, and even a slightly unstable rear of the car. He can then bring that extra perfomance out of the car.

Yeah, not surprising. Also considering his driving style he probably had to compensate the understeer by pushing the rear tyres more leading to additional deg. Charles was in a similar situation.

Pace on inters wasn't that bad outside the first few laps.

But not a free weekend before the Hungarian GP!

.
This is sure to be one of the biggest moments in the history of the Festival of Speed as reigning three-time world champion Verstappen takes to the famous Goodwood Hill, accompanied by several other F1 stars.
Red Bull's current F1 line-up will be joined on Sunday at the Festival of Speed by a host of Red Bull alumni including the team's original drivers from 2005, David Coulthard and Christian Klien. Also present will be multi-time grand prix winners Daniel Ricciardo and Mark Webber, and each driver will be in action at the wheel of a Red Bull F1 car.
Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing Team Principal and CEO, will also be suiting up for a run up the hillclimb.
It's not just a great class of Red Bull drivers either. The cars they will be driving are pretty special as well.
The list begins fittingly with the RB1, Red Bull Racing's first F1 car, which Klien will be driving. Webber will climb into the cockpit of the RB6, the winner of Red Bull's first world championships in 2010. Ricciardo will take the RB7 up the Hill, Horner the RB8 and Coulthard the RB9, in what will be a unique showcase of Red Bull's incredible run of four successive drivers' and constructors' championship doubles from 2010-2013.

Verstappen, who will be making his Festival of Speed debut, will be reunited with his RB16B, the car that he drove to his first world championship triumph in that memorable 2021 season, and Sergio Perez will get back behind the wheel of the Red Bull RB19, one of the most dominant F1 cars of all time.
It's a selection of cars that spans several eras of F1, from the Cosworth V10-engined RB1 to the V8 blown-diffuser of the RB7, to the V6-hybrid engines of the present day, and a showcase of the progress that has been made by a team spearheaded by legendary designer Adrian Newey.
This is set to be the largest celebration of an F1 team we've ever seen at the Festival of Speed, and Sunday 14th July will be the climax to a long weekend that will also see Red Bull take the covers off its new RB17 hypercar on Friday 12th July.

Can we not move these PR / external event / social media snippets to special Team PRR threads?
I feel it clutters this thread.

It looks like the Red Bull works better on low fuel on front limited tracks (Canada, Silverstone), while the McLaren comes alive on low fuel on rear limited tracks? Or is that just a bit too simple with track temp differences etc?

If the Hungary update can fix some of the understeer / tyre overheating issues, they could be able to match Mclaren and Merc again.

RBR is celebrating their 20th anniversary this weekend at the GFS and I don't think a separate thread should be opened for that.
It is about the 20th anniversary of this team and therefore belongs in their team thread aka "2024 Oracle Red Bull Racing F1 Team."

Just like we have separate team and car threads, my opinion is we should also have a team PR / social media thread where all your links to more peripheral news can be posted for those interested in it.

Yeah, looks like an airbox. I’m curious, teams are not allowed to work on ‘26 cars, but does that count for sketches like this as well (assuming its not for ‘25)?

They also followed Ferrari strategy with Perez (with predictable results) so who knows...

Also Perez has a looming performance clause
Does it matter? It's still perplexing to everyone why they signed a contract with him in the first place... (I wouldn't mind Lawson in the second seat next year.)

They can run last year's car now? Did the FIA loosen up the regulation on this that much?

I was also very confused about this when i saw autosport announce this, I know its a show event, but they could still gather data from it
