Probably the scrubbed set, so they've been scrubbed twice.

Last year Webber only made the massive come back because everyone else was on the wrong two stop strategy and Webber was forced into a three stopper - it wasn't really down to him having fresh tyres.

Hopefully Kobayashi can get on the podium.

I wanna know why Webber was able to do a 35.7 in q2 but could only manage a 36.2 in q3? Did he use the set from q2 on purpose to have more tires in the race?

Btw WB, in q2 Mark & Seb did identical sectors 1 & 2 but Webber found all the time in sector 3 to bang out that 35.7.

i dont know if you guys noticed but Nico's top speed lower than Michael's in their Q3 run.
I think he had a bit more wing in his car
and also look at this
Image
The track was dropping temp pretty quickly
and Nico made use of it as he was one of the first to come out
and also his out lap was 3 sec faster than others, which might have brought his tyre to temp quickly

Others just got caught out with the temp
Nico made use of it and thats why he was that much quicker than others =D>

There were only 2 or 3 people on 2 stoppers...

I think the track temps went cold in q3. Most cars struggled to even match their q2 times.

Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.

My feeling is that, in an effort to avoid relegation, he actually used up the soft compound that was supposed to be used in Q3. If you look at Vettel, you can understand this point. Vettel didn't do it as he hoped to come within top 10 and then go for a Q3 laps, but he failed to get into top 10. Webber doubted that he could come within top 10 and used up his final set of tyres. But when he did came in top 10, he had to use the used up soft tyres for Q3 run, which had obviously lost the sheen.

I also feel that, now that Webber has used the soft tyres in two runs (Q2 and Q3), he would struggle to get a good start tomorrow, with these set of tyres.

I don't remember Kobayashi ever being crash happy. He goes for daredevil outbraking moves, but I don't remember him hitting people.

@prince: the Red Bulls did 2 runs on soft tyres in Q2. At worst they used up 2, or they reused their old set. So Vettel has 1 definitely new set, 1 maybe new. Webber has maybe 1 or 2 sets (I doubt they'd really do 3 separate runs on 1 set of tyres though - so probably 1 new set at best)

Given the gap, what are the chances, if any, that Mercedes set up Rosberg for pole and Schumacher for the win? I'm genuinely curious.

The very nature of the Daffy Duct would seem to open up the door to such a possibility.

My bet would be Button or Hamilton, kobayashi and kimi for top three steps as race pace of merc seems suspect

This race could be an indicator if Vettel can really drive a not so good car.. I for one expect him to be in the top 4 (hopefully 3) by the end of the race

My bet would be Kimi.
Lotus had trouble getting temperature in the tyres - they said that they're not warm enough for 1 lap but in the race this non aggresive tyre managment could very well paly in their cards.
