What a win by Lewis they put him the wrong tyres but he somehow made them last because those hards were rapid

So........Merc with two wins on the trot.....this one was on pace too!
More on strategy and quicker tire change.
Lewis made the softs work a lot better then Lando tbh. Think he was managing the at the end. Which I think is hallmark Lewis in managing tyres

Unbelievable!!

Unbelievable race management! There isn’t really anyone right now at the level Hamilton and Verstappen in terms of race management…
Alonso
Not in a long time. Alonso looks like he’s just collecting a paycheck these days.

Yes, very well done by Lewis, eeked more laps out of them than were in there, Lando was I think going for the win. Which he could, maybe should have had. Thankfully Max could secure P2. I was really thinking it would be p6 today, or even 7.

Lando absolutely cooked his softs.

Excellent pit calls both times, and the choice for hards.
Car had too much drag with DRS closed imo.

Is it really Max Verstappen driving the No1 car??

He didn’t even defend against the McLarens…
Remember verstappen has damage to the floor..he may be losing quite a bit of downforce
They changed the floor
My understanding is he doesn't hav a spare and needs to go for a repair rather than replacement

Not in a long time. Alonso looks like he’s just collecting a paycheck these days.
And Hamilton looked like collecting experimental setups until he got fast car.

I’ve been following since Senna / Prost / Mansell. Alonso is done.

I’m probably 2-3x as old as half the posters here who probably only found out about F1 via DTS.

Agree.

I think McLaren butchered their pit calls today. Both Ostar in the first and Lando with softs in the last. But Lando also couldn't get the used softs to work anywhere near as well as Lewis. I think you have to pay a lot credit to Lewis for that - also pitted a lap earlier as per Max/RBR.

No. They had a spare.

@ Topic: Excellent work by Lewis (and Mercedes). Fully deserved, and a great record that's unlikely to be broken (9 wins on the same circuit). Really gutted for George - that was unfortunate.

Excellent strategy from Red Bull. McLaren are fast, but they are just not on the level yet.

First time since rounds 10 + 11 of the 2022 season that a constructor other than RBR wins two consecutive races. So essentially the first time in 2 years. Significant moment for the sport.

McLaren threw away the win. Fastest in the wet, fastest in the dry... but lethargic in their decision making. In the wet you double stack. (Pisatri screwed over) The should have pitted Norris after Max - and never choose softs at Silverstone of all places if you are the on chasing! (Norris screwed over)
