Mercedes AMG F1 W03

Maybe it's the WHOLE package which is to blame.
Actually, I am very uncomfortable about prelli using an renault as a test car. Maybe it's just nonsense, but lotus'd have an advantage because of this.

I think the advantage comes from the following:

Renault's power delivery vs Merc power delivery has been talked about a lot that has a huge impact on rear tires

Using engine A vs engine B gives everyone on engine A an advantage if the tires are better suited to your power delivery rather than engine B spl when engnine B has more power (since the tires are now designed for the lower pwoered more driveable aka smoother power delivery engine)

I don't think Pirelli shares it's data with Renault or Lotus, tbh. Who's driving again? Is it Jaime Alguersuari? He's not affiliated with Renault or Lotus is he?

No no fellas. I'm sorry, but this discussion is looking like sour grapes. We're better than that. Lotus, despite being the Devil, have simply built a damn good car. I'm willing to literally (and I mean that) bet my house that their good car has nothing to with Pirelli using one of their old cars.

NM - I don't think anyone is suggesting a conspiracy. But all F1 cars have a bit - even if only a smidgen - of carry over in the design. Out of all the 2012 cars, chances are the Lotus E20 is the most similar to the Renault R30. (eg you'd expect yourself to look like your grandfather, rather than looking like your neighbor's grandfather). These carryover bits are what is being alluded to here.

Never noticed that strange gap at the bottom of the nosecone column before. Surely not a McLaren-esque flexiwing device? Or maybe it's just not yet been fully assembled.

Either way, no pics yet of the FW with the upper cascades on. This appears to be a pre-silverstone FW evidenced by the kinks in the mainplane by the side of the nosecone columns.

It looks nicely engineered. Some clear fore-thought on cooling with the special attachable panel which presumably either contains or does not contain the cooling gills. Another example of the improvement over the W02, apparently less last minute botch job features.

These front-wing pylons also do not have the pipe extensions to blow the wing itself. Maybe they have get rid of the DDRS because of their side effects?

Is the piping for the DDRS under the engine shield or they have removed it?

This front wing looks like a hybrid as the two early season curves are under the main plain in both inboard and outboard locations, but the 2nd and 3rd wing elements also meet with the main plane which I'm sure they did not do before. If I'm not mistaken, the early spec of this initial wing had the 3rd element curved upwards at the inboard area.

Ferraripilot, can you point out what you mean by the 3rd element curved upwards?

This is the pre-silverstone wing, that first emerged at Canada: (link )

The main difference I see from the Canada photo is in the paint, both the small vertical fin just inside of the end plate and the bottom of the upper flap adjust painted black instead of silver (which it now is). Apart from the paint, it looks like the same front wing to me.
