So McLaren building it's own F1 power unit makes no sense when the car industry is moving towards an all EV future with hybrids as a stop gap measure while it waits for battery technology to improve. In the end I expect F1 will ditch the internal combustion engine entirely down the road (i can hear the boos already). Which is when you might see McLaren using it's own power trains in the sport. Until then it's Renault PU's or another manufacturers PU's.

According to Spanish media, the MCL34 will debut a new front wing, new rear wing, revised bargeboards and floors... It’s also stated that the team believes that the chassis is capable of going 1 second faster and the goal is to reach that goal during the season.

It’s also stated that the upgrades that will show up in Barcelona will increase their cornering speed and reduce the current understeer presently in the car, but that they also expect a reduction in top speed, a trade off that they are aware of and comfortable with.
