Obviously Horner was really worried they will crash into each other and the fall out of that will be worse than Horner being blame as a bad team boss. Please try to look at it in a team boss point of view, RedBull may easily have loose both 2nd and 3rd place at the final corner.

When these boys were allowed to race like in Turkey 2010, it turn out to be a wreck and the fall out of that also worsen the teammate relationship. It is extremely rare to have Mclaren's case of Button and Hamilton. Of course, Horner would love to have Mclaren's teammate relationship, but it is wishful thinking at the moment and the reality is that most teams don't have such brotherly love like teammate relationship.

Webber had a bad start and made clumsy mistakes like mowing the silverstone grass, it indicates that he has a weak ability to control car. So clearly there is a good chance of crashing.

Great pass by Button over Massa, today. A very good example of how to pass & be passed. Wheel to wheel, no contact, no drama, no post race quarreling. Was my favorite part of the race after McLaren's trigger happy lollypop man.

Agree, Vettel's not a passer. He's consistent, I'll give him that, but he's only quick when no one's around him.

I will say though, after all this criticism of Vettel that I've been going on and on about, his interview on Top Gear tonight was fantastic. He's a really funny guy and very down to Earth. Great kid.

I've always like his attitude. He's the only modern F1 driver that smiles, seems to enjoy his job and is capable of cracking a joke. He's still a PR bot, but a little less so than the others.

I think thats partly because there is a lack of motivation to overtake. Why do you want to risk your race if you can still extend your championship points by finishing 2nd or 3rd.

That makes sense. Overall, we can't expect everything out of Vettel. He already has a great personality, fast (when he is in front) and very intelligent. Of course, he has this weakness of modest overtaking skill. Imagine if he does not have this weakness, F1 will be so predictable and boring.

Did not Hamilton spend 2/3 of a race behind Vettel's Red Bull this year? (and also hit four cars during overtake moves in two races)

Secondly, he has Merc engine not Renault. Do we have any speed trap data for this race?

LH position way back in the points and his multiple crashes in this season while overtaking speak volumes...just refresh my memory...how far behind is he? Btw..I totally agree

You are forgetting the fact that this is not just about Silverstone, Vettel has NEVER shown any major overtaking ability in his entire career.

In the same car, on the same tyres, Vettel would be totally outclassed.

No question that Vettel is quick on his own, but as he is in what is unquestionably the best car so no-one knows how quick.

But Vettel does not have the same wheel to wheel racing skills as Hamilton, Alonso, Kobayashi et al. Even Button, not known for aggressive driving has shown far more skills this season in this department than Vettel ever has.
