Yeah very harsh. No one deserved a penalty there. If 1 gets a penalty then they all should.
I'd pit on lap 40 and let Lewis eat Max and Kimi with his new softs.
Yes, you were saying? Gap to Kimi and Max coming down, blistering showing up on the rears and 23 laps to go.Sierra117 wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 21:05Highly unlikely they will stop again. It's like Vettel in Bahrain. Track position is usually king. Too risky to give up position and try and overtake a faster-on-straights Ferrari which could end in tears.Phil wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 21:02My thinking is, assuming Mercedes stop again, they’ll do that soon enough which will give Kimi track position. Then try to win the race with him, while hoping that the battle will bunch up for Vettel to get closer.
Also; if Hamilton stops again, he might even fall behind Verstappen. Mercedes IMO in a tricky position. Conserve and try to get to the end or commit to the 2 stop and give up track position?
As you may have noticed, Lewis isn't pushing at all. So whatever it is looks to be a usual case of the others pushing and Lewis not. Either way I expressed a possibility imo, not a fact. Let's see what happens.Phil wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 21:08Yes, you were saying? That would be funny if he said that.DiogoBrand wrote:Hamilton asking for blue flags? What's next? A "Honestly, what are we doing here?!" from him?
They didn't compromise the race by stopping early, he was in front even after his stop. They compromised the race by not making a 2nd stop earlier.Phil wrote: ↑21 Oct 2018, 21:13Mercedes compromized their race by stopping very early under the VSC. Considering his pace now, it seems they are trying to get to the end.
This is of course risky, given the state of his tires might be very bad towards the end. I also dont want to think back to China 2007....
