Such a shame and disappointing end to his career if he does go to Aston.
Why would it be a shame for a storied British designer to go to a storied British marque's F1 team?

Dont forget Aston Martin are still on building a state of the art factory and wind tunnel. Probably have the best set of resources of any F1 team when they are up and running.

So much about his dreams to win with Ferrari and Hamilton
Lol would be funny if Hamilton retired at Aston Martin Honda in a Newey designed car. That would be the perfect ending.

All that for an upcoming rule set that will give designers even less aero options to make up for a potential PU deficit than 2014 rules did
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

good point, you are right. maybe we should be looking more at PU rumours than chassis. :)

Mercedes has been consistently rumoured to have one of the best if not the best PU outright in 2026. Sainz was keen to choose a Mercedes customer team... but this might be offtopic for this thread

It's a fitting full circle, the team that used to be Jordan F1 eventually becoming Aston Martin Racing. With Eddie Jordan being Newey's manager, this is their swan song and legacy.
Why Aston Martin plans to keep an unsung Jordan F1 legend's memory alive

The old Jordan Formula 1 factory has just been demolished to make way for the final phase of the new Aston Martin campus. But the building that will replace it will serve, remembers MAURICE HAMILTON, as a reminder of success in battles against the odds

Should be 11am UK time next Tuesday, if sources are right and nothing out of the ordinary happens

Newey likes the university like environment? Could be attractive if they give him his own "lab" to experiement on cars and boats.

Indeed, fairytale.

His son is to be champion. He is championship material. Please pay attention when Alonso speaks. ;)

Joe Saward said nobody else actually wanted Newey for what his demands were. His demands are basically that he doesn't want to work day to day, but he has veto power over anything he doesn't like with the car. Plus big money

That would be a no for me. If you are invested in the team and want veto, you work with us daily.

You can’t come in with zero context and veto left and right and walk out, need to have delivery responsibility as well and put some skin in the game.
