Mercedes AMG F1 W03

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Brawn and Team appear to get a handle on the condoleeza exhausts. Just a little more tweaking and they can be within 0.5 seconds of the leaders, which is very good if you ask me.

I wonder why they haven't tried the brake ducts a la Williams/Sauber on their car #-o

From that pic Morteza, looks like they've gone back to Vertical brake calipers - did this change happen before now? They went to horizontal calipers at Monaco.

They still run horizontal calipers at the back of the car:

Just don't know why they aren't doing so at the front. Maybe they have a well engineered answer to this.

Demonstration of Coanda effect with water:

Looks easy

Nice to see how it should work, theoretically it should work the same way with air and the car, obviously you need the right shape to use this effect...

I wonder how long Mercedes will need to develop something that really works, last race it wasn't evident that their new exhaust really worked as it should.

Obviously the pictures are not from the same angle.

-RBR floor seems much closer to the ground (at the picture there is no space)

-McLaren car is more rolling? Soft suspension?

Could be due the angel but still is interesting
