concerning...
I wasn't expecting it this bad but they made a major change and it would have major effects on the setup.
Just like Haas! If even Haas can understand better the new package than Aston ,then is a serious problem...

Breaking Parc fermé is probably a good idea.
If they break Parc ferme ,will it impact Sprint?

Mexico's issue is the atmospheric pressure due to the altitude and the way it impacts the downforce so not sure if data collection over there is that useful, an answer from organic would be appreciated. If that were the case then they should really maximise everything they can get from Austin.

Something is off here. I've never seen such a drop-off in performance during a season. Maybe only Ferrari with the engine TD or the TD 039.

It's like they have the A-Spec AMR22 again. It doesn't make sense.

Let's see tomorrow, I did watch back and Alonso almost had to go qualifying lap to start his fast lap.

Are Mercedes spinning the fan for the wind tunnel anti-clockwise when it should spin clockwise🤣

I don't buy the failed upgrade narrative because in that case it's possible to bring an old spec to compare.
If we go back to the first few races, the car had very good handling. Not very quick on the straights but tremendous performance in pretty much all corners, on top of very good tyre management.

Even on tracks that usually reward very high efficiency (like Bahrain or Canada) Alonso was super quick there.

Krack:

"It was a very close Qualifying session and we did not optimise things today.

"I don't think our grid positions reflect our true potential.

"During free practice, we suffered with overheating front brakes on both cars and resolving that issue cost us valuable preparation time.

"When it came to Qualifying, we were on the backfoot, and with such a tight grid it cost us. The final moments of the session were not ideal with queuing in the pitlane. It was then all quite rushed, with the clock ticking down, and that impacted the preparation of their final laps.

"We can do better and we have to."

I was thinking more about before the race. Don't think they learned much from the 3 laps on Softs. After the sprint shootout and race, they might have learned enough to effectuate a change or atleast a test.

Far from ideal, but a quick car would have come through. But hey, at least STR is happy again with car balance, the real goal of the updates?!

So Peter Prodrumou is a better aerodynamics than Dan Fallows after all.

Was it ever in doubt?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

It wasn't, Peter was always better, just that he was sidelined while Key was at McL and didn't provide much input. That's why they decided to change the technical structure.

I'm interested to see what Fallows and Blandin have prepared for next year.
