I am delighted with the qualifying. McLaren, Mercedes and Raikkonen really looked good.

I am really supprised with Vettel's hard tire pick which means "we are slower". This is smt enjoyable especially when one remembers how cocky Christian Horner was last week "we under-performed". Possibly they are investing for a two pit stop strategy for Vettel.

Will be very fun race, hopefully.

I expect Redbull to be fast in the race but can they catch McLaren, don't think so.

Well, one never knows, that is why it is so exiting.. :)

Yeah, it seemed Christian Horner couldnt accept the fact that Mclaren were simply too good last week. "Mclaren didnt win today, We lost it"

Shut up Horner. If you dont want to praise Mclaren, fair enough, but dont say rubbish like that.

Over the last 2 years, Mclaren, Ferrari , Mercedes all were saying "Red Bull were too fast for us today" or "They were simply out of reach for us again"

I saw that article. He never actually said that. He actually just said, "We underperformed this weekend. If we didn't underperform, we wouldn't have been 8 tenths away from pole." He was just referring to the lack of testing their B-spec sidepods have had. The headline was sensationalising things. As is typical of Planet F1.

You won't mind helping me with the raindance after the Q3 option runners pit then

Probably just trying to keep the confidence of his investors.

It's almost painful to see the shift of demeanor in the Red Bull camp though.

Webber is all perky, Vettel is all frowny and Horner looks somewhat befuddled when searching for the right words during interviews.

Do you blame them though? Webber has outqualified his teammate twice in a row - which after 2011 must seem like Christmas. Vettel had the quickest car last year - though maybe not by a massive gap - and dominated 2011. Now he's got the 4th quickest car; or maybe 3rd quickest at best.

"I was struggling with the brakes right through the qualifying sessions. The engineers are working on it to make this better for the race. Otherwise the car was running well though we have not even managed to run it anyway close to its full potential. I will concentrate on using the race as a test session and will concentrating on finishing the race. The development will go on and I am very confident of us becoming better as the season progresses," said Narain.

Webber out qualifying Vettel again is the big surprise for me, he used to do it in 2010 as well so just what was it about last years car that made Vettel so unbeatable over one lap.

You're kidding right?
Things are much much much closer this year. Vettel had many luxuries last year.
EBD was making him look better than his talents allowed. He was the smartest at using what was given to him. This year the teams are given less, so his ability to maximise and analyze has less of an influence on lap time. This is why webber is faring better against him.
I know in the race Vettel will move up. Probably take another podium.
For Sure!!

You have a very low opinion of Vettel and his talents (or in your view, his lack thereof). We get it. This thread is about the race. Move on.

I said nothing outlandish or contrary, after all we are observing a shift in the balance correct?

Mclaren could win this race but i'm expecting shumacher's performance to be pivotal in the outcome. He could be a thorn for both redbull and mclaren.

Doubt he'd win, cause i dont think the W03 has good race pace when the car gets light. But he sure will be in the mix.

Grosjean looks like he can really take it to redbull as well.
For Sure!!

Just re watched qualy, Vettel was definitely on the white stripes for his first run in Q3 and still slower than Webber.
