Big win for Rosberg and Ricciardo. Merc pace is still untouchable for the rest of the field.

Interesting to see both Merc suffering the same problem around the same time.

Remember the team didn't know what was happening until his brakes failed. So the team could not have known how to solve the issue had one of the cars not failed. Unfortunately it was Hamilton's first, as he was suffering longer than rosberg with low power.
Rosgerg savior was from Lewis failure.
So yes he had to retire, either him or Rosberg.

I don't think Rosberg's car came, back, Mercedes just went down to the other cars' performance level. So their secret is basically that their ERS.

I'm just hearing from Paddy Lowe that Lewis failure was a brake failure. Rosberg had no KERS.
For Sure!!

He wasn't happy with his Team's stategy already during the race when he was stuck behind Hulk and the timing of their respective pit stops brought Ric in front of him.
Anyway Ricciardo is doing a great Job.

It was a very interesting Race where in the last 10 laps we had 5 candidates for the win. Haven't had thad for a very long time. Pitty for Hamilton, though.

He said both had the same KERS problem. And that it might have contributed to Hamilton's brake failure. Good job on Rosberg's part nursing the car home with only the ICE and forward brake bias.

My guess is that Mercedes is putting a lot more load on their ERS for engine braking, and on such a high braking track it simply overloaded it. With them running nose to tail, they both blew up the ERS at the same time.

Merc had better fix that issue before Monza, it'll be just as hot and fast there.

I think it was ridiculous they let the gates open for spectators to get on the track near the first two corners after the race had finished when the marshals were busy trying to recover the cars of massa and perez. I've seen pictures from someone in the grandstand showing the marshals having to push/fight spectators back from trying to steal debris from the cars, all whilst there were recovery truck moving about. Have the track organizers forgot about the marshal killed last year and the amazing job they do, so we can enjoy races like this!!!!!

He closed 25 before and got ahead. This time it's 22. He won't need the double.
