And it's getting even heavier.

I don't get all the Perez/Norris style crashes. Essentially they both drove the car into the tirewall. Is it so hard to not over-correct even at F1 driver skill level?
Seeing this all the time also on a dry track.

They are going ahead because it’ll get heavier later 😬

Not sure this is a good idea…

Hope they can all keep it on the road.

So far down to 2hr40 to run the race.
The race hasn’t started though. 4 hours from the start of the event?

Heavier rain coming, they need to start now.

There's even more rain now than 25 minutes ago by the looks of it.
Rain radar shows more and prolonged rain to come. Could be postphoned to 1700h even...

3hr this year.

But yes... it looks like I was wrong and the countdown has not started yet.

This is such BS. 20 years ago they would have been racing for twenty minutes now. Build proper cars and tires!

Perez was just a passenger for most of that. As soon as he went over that kerb any steering or brake input from him really didn’t matter. There was nothing he could do to not slide into the wall.

So we’re not allowing cars to start from the grid normally now it’s behind the safety car. Amazing.
‘Here max have 1st place into turn 1’.

Edit:- Just to clarify I would say exactly the same no matter who was on pole.
Tbh Even though a processional start is dull as dishwater compared to a standing start, it’s probably a good thing if it prevents a Hungary at the first corner!

It looks bloody horrible there at the moment and we absolutely don’t want any drivers getting hurt.
They are the best drivers or they aren’t.
One of the biggest defining moments during a race is the start. Now it’s a procession, just Verstappen the trophy now.

But he did do the best job yesterday, so fair’s fair.

I agree it’s a massive shame not to get a standing start but they just can’t risk a massive accident.

Keep an eye on the barometric pressure, if it's going down the it's likely the rain is going to get worse.

It’s not a massive shame it’s a procession and not a race. I actually turned this on to watch car racing not slot cars.
