I'm quite optimistic, I feel that McLaren will come to grips with a new track faster than RP.

Red Bull will probably be ahead this weekend (depends if engine modes really hurt them), but I hope for a strong finish in top 10.

Experimental session as always kind of surprised about the nose I actually drew up a similar design for the MCL35 Last week in 3D though mine featured a double edged cape And a Z-duct

So that's why I would do no tire change and mandatory 3 laps of VSC before full stop, when possible. 3 VSCs aren't always possible.
In what scenario you think is possible 3 VSC laps before full stop? If 3 VSC laps are plausible and safe, then there´s no reason for a full stop after that, only if those 3 laps were done in a dangerous scenario wich actually requires a full stop. Not a sensible thing to do IMHO
Well often, like Monza. They red flaged the race the race to rebuild the barrier.

Exactly.

The tire wall was unsafe if another car crashed into it, either from loose tyres or from going through to the barrier behind. Not to mention the people there at risk of a car sliding into them as they rebuild the tyres. As we saw with Bianchi, accidents can happen under any circumstances, so it is inconceivable to continue with the race and risk the marshals lives to improve pit opportunities.

You could force a drive through or after the red flag for those that have a tyre change, but then those individuals are punished because when that happens, the field is bunched up and they drop all the way to the back when they may have gone back 5-10 places.

So I do not see a fair method, either by adding time or otherwise. Someone will always get punished in this situation so we just have to take it on the chin. But we were going to be second at best anyway until Hamilton got a penalty, so we are just complaining about how luck fell for us, not rules - if we are honest about it.

Lando was quite lucky as it didn't cause too much damage.

I thought they wouldn’t be able to get the car back to the garage until the session ends?

I’ve only been watching on/off as I’m busy(ish) working from home... is it back in the pit lane yet?
