They are making good progress it seems, speed will come later. Fixing the fundamental issues with the Power Unit's reliability has to come first, then Honda brings upgrades that increase performance hopefully.Del Boy wrote:Sorry your correct I hadn't realised they were using a 2016 engine! I still don't think the speed trap is great when compared to cars above it and I would love McLaren to be quick. Just don't see it YET!
I don't care much (barely at all tbh) about speed traps or fastest lap times during testing.Del Boy wrote:Sorry your correct I hadn't realised they were using a 2016 engine! Absolutely, yesterday´s day was the best one since Honda came back to F1. A lot of laps, engine maps and chasis check outs, and some 6-10 laps stints. It looks decent right now.bauc wrote:Yep, we need 2 more days like this and we will be in decent shape for the first raceJef Patat wrote:121 laps

That´s a tv spotlight!
sorry, I couldn´t stop myself
Mclaren (or Honda Racing, don't remember), stated earlier in the day that the PU is detuned for some ICU tests and aero checks, that IMO explains the lower speed and general lack of pace today.vantage87 wrote:http://oi68.tinypic.com/2wgu8hd.jpg
