Good job by Stroll! Stroll clearly has some talent, you don't score podiums and a pole without talent! =D>

So, do we know the exact configuration regarding updates/parts used for Alonso and Stroll?
If they were running different spec cars, then what they ran on Stroll's car definitely worked.
it may not have translated to results so far, but to me Stroll looked like the "better" - or at least more comfortable - of the two drivers for basically the past three weekends. So I wouldn't think it's one specific part which may be on the car today or not.

Stroll was significantly faster on the straight, cars configurations or setup are not the same clearly.

Also, if that's the case, then it's much more positive than we think it is, cause Alonso is traditionally quite quicker than Stroll, so that could had put him in contention for more maybe?
I counld't find any great pics, the ones I did find, looked like the old config. Like I said, they weren't great pics.
Looks like Lance had the old floor edge on at least. Rosario Giuliana wrote yesterday that in Mexico the old floor with the new diffuser was used. That could be again what stroll used this weekend.

I didn't catch qualifying live, but looks like FA was 3rd quickest car behind McLaren & RB in Q2 in the dry. So the Q3 was not complete fluke due to timing

To me it looks like they both ran Strolls FP1 setup in quali.

They were comparing Alonso & Lance’s lap…Lance is clearly superior in corners.
Is this due to different set-up?

Who was? Pretty hard to comment on that without knowing what was said.

Like I said, I posted pictures on the AMR23 car thread, they look like they both went with Stroll's FP1 setup for the rest of the weekend. The new config has less drag, Alonso lost 5 KPH or more at the speed trap from FP1 to quali, but I guess it was giving up too much time in the slower sections.

Floor looks to be the same in both indeed. De la Rosa said in FP1 there were small differences between Stroll and Alonso's cars in order to test but it's likely they are the same from qualy onwards, which is interesting because Stroll was 2-4 tenths faster every lap. In any case great result from both, finally!

race pace seemed to be pretty solid considering both cars would have killed tyres trying to overtake. will be in a battle with mclaren for final podium position

Everybody killed the tyres not just Aston. Top10 will be possible, but max P8. 2 Redbull, Ferrari, Mercedes looking fast.

It seems that car is back to business.

Pace seemed quite good, hopefully they can have a good race result and keep this level until end of the season
