I think so. Alpine looks quick.
Don't know how many tracks are left that suit Alpine over McLaren but guess we will see.
Relatively short track, so probably less than a second, based on past performances as well.mclaren111 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022, 14:37Sooo... Are we going to More or Less than One Second behind ??

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking - Montreal is a bit deceptive and anyone with good traction into the long straight might be able to defend their position.mclaren111 wrote: ↑16 Jun 2022, 09:57https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FVUTqnXXoAA ... me=900x900Emag wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022, 15:30Relatively short track, so probably less than a second, based on past performances as well.mclaren111 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022, 14:37Sooo... Looked at the track again... I think you might be right... Turns 1,2, 6 & 10 are slow which will help...
Let's hope for the best...
Which is more important really depends on the track and the severity of the strength or weakness. At each track you're always making choices and trade offs. If McLaren's grip was a little better, it would have allowed them to use less rear wing, resulting in them being faster on the straight. The opposite is also true.runningmanz wrote: ↑10 Jun 2022, 02:37Yeah most important to have good grip for the slower corners as thats where you lose most of the time, but the car seems better balanced this year overall than previously, will be interesting to see the differences compared to last year. Hopefully we can avoid a mugging though along the main straight. Love the Baku track so looking forward to it.mwillems wrote: ↑09 Jun 2022, 13:58Top end is good at the back end of the straight, corner exit is more important for the rest of the straight.runningmanz wrote: ↑09 Jun 2022, 05:34I hope we don't get mugged on this long straight at Baku. The top end was great in the car last year even if the car was weak at alot of other slower tracks, altho I think we must have gone for higher df last year as our speed trap and finish line figures were not that great from memory.
Although more braking related would love to see some more of this too. Ah the memories, human ABS.
it'll be interesting to compare speed through the corners and at the various points of the straights to understand how the car is behaving.
Yes, he was having a good race until a tear off got lodge in the rear brake inlet, which increased temperatures, got on fire and ended up destroying his suspension.
