Yeah, that is a quali-wise guessmotobaleno wrote: I would say that you saw expecially quali laptimes...there are also race long stint
And he also says that one of the race sims of Force India looked pretty good (Mercedes and Williams territory).gray41 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7CCNoSubI8#t=0
Interesting that Alonsos race sim for Ferrari would have made him 45seconds slower than Rosberg over the same race distance.
Didn't Ferrari go for low drag cars the last years?timbo wrote:I remember Rory Byrne went for low-drag cars in 2003-4.

Basicilly, this was THE circuit of tyre management last year. If you can say about a "team tyre deg. is pretty low" on this circuit, you can assume even less problems on other circuits.Consider the graph above of Mercedes powered cars on Day 3. Mercedes runs and groupings show consistency and pace and the tyre degradation is pretty low. “Mercedes engineers looking at this graph will be pleased with where they are so far,” says Gillan. “Day 4 wasn’t so great as they had some problems, but Day 3 with Rosberg was very consistent. They are the team to beat in Melbourne.”
They might be similar but Pirelli have said they've changed the tyres to be more resistant to lateral tearing, which is why we've not seen so many marbles. (I'm pretty sure thats what was said anyway, pretty sure it was in one of Ted's notebooks)atanatizante wrote:Someone said on other forum that Pirelli 2014 tyres are in fact 2012 ones with the emphasis on the rears due to much torque these PU have ...turbof1 wrote:James Allen made a sturdy analysis on this:

Could anyone confirm that`s a fact?
In their Bahrain PR, they said their tyres are not far from the 2013 ones in performance. So, in that terms, it's really something around the 2012 ones but apparently with some tweaks.atanatizante wrote: Someone said on other forum that Pirelli 2014 tyres are in fact 2012 ones with the emphasis on the rears due to much torque these PU have ...
